DO NOT PURCHASE THIS OFFER - an absolute con. No product weight was specified so was expecting 5lb bag of Death Wish and slightly smaller Valhalla. What I received was a 1lb bag of the former and a 12 once bag of the latter. Cheaper to drink champagne....

Best coffee I have ever tasted. Am I a connoisseur? No. I dont like Starbucks, but I love Dunkin Donuts. In fact, I have Dunkin almost daily. Once in a while I will go elsewhere and try a different brand, or try some darker roast or organic bean. So, while I love Dunkin, I sometimes even need a break from them. Death Wish Coffee on the other hand brings flavor and quality to a level I have not known in a coffee before. This is probably my third time buying them and the first with Valhalla Java Variety. With over 1,000 reviews at the time of this writing, am sure there are those that know their coffee better than me, and so I will feel confident that they are in agreement with me that, at the least, this is damn good coffee! The package warns you about the amount of coffee to use and that you should use less than regular. The last pot I made, I made a normal pot of coffee, not really heeding the caution. And even then, it does not taste burnt or bitter or too bold. Yes, it will pack a punch. You will know that later in the day. But there is a depth of flavor that ranges from a soft boldness to even a chocolatey note behind the coffee-nutty flavor. I am not sure why you only get 12 oz of the Valhalla and a pound of the other. But needless to say. This last batch I bought ground coffee for my coffee maker and whole bean for my espresso machine. I have not tried it as an espresso, but I am sure its Valhella good. As a final note, I cannot afford this to be my every day coffee. Its just too expensive. But once in a while, I will get some and I am glad I did.

Im relatively new to coffee. I have periodic bouts with asthma and apparently the best home remedy is black coffee. Now im not telling you to toss your medication, im just saying that according to my research as well as my own experience black coffee can help open my constricted airways. Be smart about it. If it helps you, great. If not, such is life. I started out with the wussy grocery store kind, and after two or three cups my lungs do open up. Heres the hard cold fact i discovered about store bought black coffee. Its really really nasty. Thinking that the stronger the coffee the less of it i have to drink, i searched for the strongest coffee available. Thus did i find Death Wish. I ordered a bag of beans and a grinder and became a man. I love the smell of the beans. One cup, sometimes just half, and my lungs are free and clear. I still drink it black and actualy really love the flavor. And so it came time to reorder, and i tried a few other brands, Biohazard being one. Great coffee but not as good tasting as Death Wish and tends to give me the jitters. For hours.44 WA Thus i returned to Death Wish and found the package deal that included Valhalla Java, created in conjunction with a legendary guitarist ive never heard of. The beans arrived today and i must say Valhalla Java is a new experience. Just as good as Death Wish, but in its own unique way. The taste travels through various flavors ending with a "What the hell was that? That was awesome!" sensation. And so my wanderings through the strange lands of coffe blends that began on a supermarket shelf has come to an end in the rich halls of Vallhalla. Sound the horn and prepare my dragonship.

Good coffee is worth paying for. This is not your grandparents coffee or the horrid brown liquid in the coffee pots at you office. I tried the Death Wish immediately and loved it at first taste. The flavor is very rich, bold and has a smooth finish. I am not sure how they got a dark roast to be extra caffinated, but it definitely works. As a non-morning person that exyra bit is great. I was not overly impressed by the Valhalla at first but as I got it to that first cup the flavors became more aromatic with each sip. Plus it was crafted personally for Zakk Wylde, so I knew it had to be good. Add the fact that they are fair trade and organic, this may be my perfect go to coffee combo. Extra caffeine in the morning with Death Wish and good sipping coffee with Valhalla the rest of the day. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

Somehow I produced coffee house quality coffee using a cheap black and decker automatic drip and and ground the whole beans with a $20 Krups grinder. I blame this on the quality of the beans and the roast. This coffee is amazing quality. I don't want to over hype this coffee because it's easy for people to over hype anything - especially with YouTube videos or hell, even the comments section for reviews on Amazon - people taking pictures with their hair all messy in a photograph and blaming the coffee like they put their finger in a light socket or something and if that seems ridiculous it's because it is. I understand that it is expensive but it's worth it and here is why: before buying these whole beans and grinding them, my family was using old Great Value brand Columbian roast and it couldn't raise the heart rate of a mouse much less get it out of bed in the morning - but with these beans you really can make coffee house quality coffee out of your automatic drip and I didn't think that was possible. It was either I was using cheap grounds or spending $6 at Starbucks or some specialty coffee place. So while maybe you spent 20 bucks on a pound here, you would legit be spending $4.50+ at a coffee shop to get this quality and you would be getting up early, sitting in a line at a drive thru or standing in line waiting for somebody else to make your coffee and then cussing as you leave the business for wondering why you just spent so much for a cup of coffee. Think of how many cups of coffee house coffee you can make out of a pound of beans and then realize that you are also not waiting in line either. It is worth at least giving this coffee a shot and trying it out.
