初期製品からプリズムが改良され、LEDテープのように均一に光るようになりました。純正品でこれだけ安定した光量が得られるならもうこれでいいかなという感じです。白色LED品についてはLED部分に白いアクリル塗料を塗ると昼光色っぽい色にできるので国鉄通勤/特急車の雰囲気UPができます。

The media could not be loaded. I've successfully installed these lights in every Kato passenger car I've ever had, despite the slightly confusing instructions and extreme dexterity it tskes to assemble the lights so they can be installed. I assemble ALL the kit's LED circuit boards and amber filters into the white cradles before installing them into the passenger cars. Then, I gently spread the metal contact posts that extend from each circuit board so they flare out a bit to make better contact with the car's contact shoes that seem to be farther apart than the posts. Sometimes I don't install the amber filters used to warm the color of the cold LED lights depending on the passenger car's interior color. For instance, the Milwaukee Rd. cars all have brown interiors which absorb the light and reflect that warm color so the cars look better and brighter without amber filters. I suggest trying a filtered light and a non-filtered light in a train's coach car to see which looks better before doing them all with or without filters. I seldom light baggage cars unless they're RPOs and never use amber filters since many of the real cars used florescent lighting which is more blue-green. These lights can be a real challenge to install but "practice makes perfect," well, most of the time!
