Having searched high and low for a butter bell, I was very pleased to be able to find one online. There was a great range of styles and I was able to get exactly what I wanted. Delivery was quick and the product is perfect.

This item, apparently quite an "Old Fashioned" idea, works perfectly. Users should ensure the water temperature is kept low, particularly during warm weather and butter is always "Spreadable". The capacity is insufficient for an entire conventionally sized pack of butter but more than enough for several "Uses". If, like me, you're a person who prefers butter to margarine, this item is NOT a Godsend because I'm an Atheist - but it IS the Bees-Knees!Buy with confidence.

This is brilliant, it keeps butter fresh in the summer, whilst remaining soft but not liquid on hot days.

It is one of the best things I have ever bought for the kitchen, it is just the right size for the two of us, the butter stays soft and fresh. I change the water each morning after doing breakfast as then I don't have to think when did I do it last. Over the last couple of days the weather has had a change for the better but the butter has stayed perfect. It's a great invention. My only downside is the colour I really wanted was out of stock but this still looks fine on my work top.

I love these butter crocks, they work perfectly, keeping the butter soft whilst fresh in the cupboard. I bought this one to replace my Le Creuset butter crock that got broken and now is no longer sold in the UK, unless you pay ridiculous shipping fees. My only issue with this one is that the lid does not sit properly, it slides off to one side, not far enough to be a problem, just annoying. I will probably be on the look out for another Le Creuset.

Amazing, it keeps the butter ideal spreadability and is of sturdy quality. I managed to get just over half a block of butter into the bell.

Talking with a friend about organic products, we thought of butter and the drawback of having to keep organic butter (or any butter for that matter) in the fridge and it being hard as nails when you want a smitch for your toast. I asked my mum how things were done in the days before fridges were commonplace and she said butter used to be kept in water so it remained fresh. It didn't take me long to come across the butter bell which is such a simple idea but now, every time I reach for the butter I am so thankful I have this little pot to hand.It's perfect, although a little small for a family perhaps, as it only takes about have a pack of butter at a time but I am sure almost anyone would love this fabulous addition to your kitchen worktop. I'm buying a few as Christmas gifts. I would recommend this to anyone; it's brilliant!

We use it every day. Butter doesn't sour or yellow outside of the fridge. Would purchase this for friends as a present.

C'est bien ce que j'attendais : la cloche à beurre comme chez mes grand'parents. Plus besoin de se battre avec, il est toujours prêt à se faire tartiner. Je mets un peu de sel dans l'eau et/ou une goutte d'huile essentielle bactéricide au choix (qu'importe, elles le sont toutes!). Comme ça, si j'oublie de changer l'eau, pas de problème d'hygiène.

I had come across an article describing the butter bell and explaining how it worked to keep butter fresh and soft outside the refrigerator. It seemed a strange concept and, although I had never heard of it before, was not just a new gimmick. It had been around for years. I found mine at a second hand store. It works exactly as described. The butter stays soft and fresh for several days. When a fellow butter lover noticed mine and was intrigued, I just had to get her one as a gift. Although there were many styles to choose from, I selected this one because of its simplicity of design in a practical size and shape. It arrived within a few days of my order and matched the description exactly. My friend has been extremely pleased with her butter bell and admits to using butter more often because it's so much easier to have it handy on the counter whenever she wants it.
