Awesome Pro-Keds
These pro-keds are great canvas sneakers. The insoles are slightly cushioned and the rubber doesn't immediately separate at the toe creases like other brands. Just like other brands, it's lacking arch support, but it's nothing $8 insoles won't fix.Pro-keds are / were heavily discounted here on Amazon, so I bought two pairs of shoes and two pairs of insoles for less than the cost of one pair of Converse / Chuck Taylors All-Stars. That said, I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

True to size for men.
These are true to size. I have some older (15 yrs old) Pro Ked Royals and they were sized much smaller than marked. These new ones are not. They fit well as look pretty good. Personally think stitching on older models was better, but these are acceptable. Glad to get them at a discount. Look good and the outsole is high quality. Would buy again.

Great remake of the original, better sizing for modern sizes
So I bought a pair of what I know now are an older version of Pro-Keds Royal Hi Classics. I can tell because the sizing and model number was stamped on the inside of canvas instead of on tongue. Those were listed as an 11 but I just felt like they were a tiny bit too narrow (barely) and fit more like 10.5. I wear 10.5 Converse but the vintage Pro-Keds was clearly measuring differently back in the day.I tried a modern day size 11.5 of the current Pro-Keds here on Amazon, thinking the same sizing was being used from vintage pair, but ended up being too large and long (duh). Exchanged for a size 11 and they now fit PERFECT. And when I compared the vintage size 11 to a modern 11, vintage WAS definitely narrower and slightly shorter. Good to know I wasn't crazy and these remakes are better fit than the originals. Just have to break them in. Awesome sneakers!

Great shoes!
I feel like Pro-Keds offer a great alternative to the Chuck Taylor All-Stars. I have worn Pro-Keds for over a year now and I do not regret the purchase at all. I only wish I would have started wearing these shoes earlier. I feel like they offer better arch support than the standard sneaker and they seem to be of a little higher quality than my last pair of Chucks. I would buy again.
