Q: is it possible to use 2 of this cards in parallel for 12 screens?

Yes it is possible. I have an absolute wall of screens as I am in the video security industry. However there are things that must be in place. I have an MSI X99S SLI Krait Edition motherboard with 128 Gigs of Ram and an i7 Intel Processor. I am thrilled with this graphics card and its GUI.

Q: Will this card run 6 monitors at 1920 x 1200 resolution?

I have (6) 1920 x 1080 {27"} running and once set up they have been running continuously since install. I've blown (7) adapters till I got a complete set for both of my machines i have two systems running the same setup at two different locations. Card seem to be working good for over four months now. Buy the adapters locally if possible if they blow your not down very long I have extras just in case. If I had gotten the I-Inc 28" I could tell you about 1920 x 1200 but they never put them on sale again when I was ready to purchase.

Q: What is the maximum resolution and refresh rate for this card?

I ran 5760x2160 without any issue. It is not a gaming or rendering card but for day to day tasks it is great.

Q: My monitors are going to be DisplayPort (not mini DisplayPort), do I need active adapters if I plan on running 6 monitors?

Yes, I believe you do. My understanding is that you can run two monitors on non-active adaptors, but you will need active adaptors for the other four monitors.
