Used this beaker today, in fact, as well as several times, previously, for distillation and synthesis: Works with the magnetic stirrer, flawlessly. The glass does withstand the temperature swings from hot plate to freezer - vise versa - and the graduation markings are quite useful during reductions. Cleaning, too, proves easy.Only caveat is the volume (500ml), as I myself should have purchased a 1,000 milliliter, in the first place. If one wishes to utilize this beaker for strong substances, it is highly recommended to purchase the offered “watch glass” alongside it.Customers’ milage may vary.

It’s a basic glass beaker, exactly what I was looking for

This is exactly as advertised and of good quality! I use an Aeropress coffee maker to brew my coffee and I really love it! However, I recently got a coffee travel mug that has a mouth that is too small for my aeropress to sit in comfortably. I have been using a regular mug to brew my coffee and then pouring the brewed coffee into my travel mug. But since a regular coffee mug does not have a pour spout, the liquid would run down the outside of the mug when I went to pour it, and I'd end up with a good portion of it all over my counter! So I basically ordered this beaker because I needed the poor spout. I also like knowing that this is a vessel made to withstand repeated use with hot liquids, so I don't have to worry about damaging it with hot coffee or [gentle] stirring utensils (I use a small whisk). The main thing I was worried about was if it would withstand the downward pressure I have to put on my aeropress; if you're familiar with an aeropress, you have to push down on the plunger with the device sitting atop a mug. I've only had this beaker for a few days, but I can say that it stands up to the pressure! I'd say that you probably shouldn't put too much pressure on it, but it nicely deals with the firm, consistent press needed to make a great cup of coffee! I'm very happy with this product and it's definitely saving my counters!

Very useful for medication prep.

I purchased this specifically to use as a cocktail mixing glass. It has served me well for that purpose and I have no complaints. It pours well (really the first priority for this). It has been durable in the face of the occasional “kitchen roughing” after I’ve had a couple. It washes out easily (I clean it by hand so cannot speak to dishwasher durability). It has a certain “cool factor” when used for making drinks. I’ve put it in the freezer many times and it’s never had an issue.I’m not rating the accuracy of the markings bc I am not using it for a scientific purpose.Bonus content! My twist on an Old Fashioned:Strong 2oz bonded bourbon. I like JW Dant for this purpose; so does Jeffrey Morgenthaller.Strong splash Cointreau (don’t use Grand Marnier here, it’s too sweet).2 dashes Angostura bitters.1-2 barspoons of the syrup your Luxardo or Amarena cherries are packed in. Adjust to taste for your sweetness preference.(NOTE: I don’t add sugar/simple! The Cointreau & cherry syrup provide the sweetness).Construct as you would any OF (don’t you DARE muddle fruit into this, you heathen. This isn’t Wisconsin). Garnish with a Luxardo or Amarena cherry & an orange peel twist.Cheers!

This beaker is well made and great value. I assume it will take the heat. But so far very pleased.
