It’s great. There aren’t a lot of distortion pedals out there that you can plug into the clean channel of your tube amp and it will sound good. This one is perfect for that. The 3 band eq is great. Can get a lot of different tones out of it. It’s great for rock. If your looking for a more aggressive sound I’d go with the fullbore metal into the fx loop return

This pedal sounds amazing! I play it through a JCM800 combo amp and together I get a fantastic tone. Amazing sound for money.

For the price, this is an excellent pedal.It doesn't sound as good at lower gain settings as some other overdrive/distortion pedals do. It wants to ROCK! And it does that very well. But let's be honest, if you are buying a Super Badass pedal, you probably aren't expecting it to sound like a Klon or a Bluesbreaker.If you play a lot of rock (especially modern rock -- I really like it for TOOL covers), it will fit very well on your board. This pedal compresses your signal some, and adds a little bit of mid and bass to your sound, which is probably what you want anyway at the higher gain settings that this pedal likes. But the Active 3 band EQ is very powerful. You can adjust those frequencies and get back to a relatively transparent distorted tone very easily, if you want to. Or you can take it even farther and give yourself some truly thumping low end.

I saw the reviews and thought this would be ideal to add to my collection. As many others have stated, the volume control is so sensitive, to match the line output it is turned down near zero with tremendous unusable head room. The distortion is not unique, at least to me, I find it to be just plain gritty, it will not chug for those who are looking for a metal type distortion. Just seems I can find a better sounding distortion from a solid state preamp in comparison. Doesn't seem to blend well with other pedals in my signal chain, when I do use it the distortion level is mostly turned down almost all the way to boost a preamp.

My boyfriend is a fan of rock and has been playing guitar for a while. the distortion makes his music more intense. I waited a while to review it to assure it worked properly and now almost a year later he still uses it with no problems. It does suck up your electric bill but the sound is worth it.

Great sounding pedal. Wide range of tone from classic rock to metal! Nobs feel really solid not flimsy. Also the picks and mini cables are of good quality. Nice bonus for same price on other sites.
