I purchased Flock Shield on March 28, 2025, after losing one of my 3-year-old Orpington hens to sudden respiratory distress. My sweet Lavender Orpington (Smokey) began displaying similar symptoms—lethargy, nasal discharge, sneezing, and labored breathing—so I acted quickly. Following the instructions, I separated my sick feather baby from the rest of the flock and used the product in three ways: I added a few drops to her water, applied a small amount around her nostrils, and lightly sprayed her perch. I also provided syringe-fed water, vitamins, and monitored her closely. Within 24 hours, her condition noticeably improved. The symptoms reduced significantly on the first day, and she returned to her normal self 2 days later. The product is compact and easy to store, with a secure bottle design, and a spray nozzle. It appears to be formulated for quick absorption and support, and based on this experience, it functions effectively as a supportive respiratory aid. Durability-wise, a small amount goes a long way which is great value for the money, so the bottle should last through multiple treatments as needed. Overall, this product performed as described and was a valuable tool in supporting the recovery of my symptomatic hen. This is a must have for my Chicken First Aid Kit.

I would honestly say smells good but it’s kind of like allergy relief, but doesn’t actually carry anything. Helps them breathe better though.

One of our coops with 18 hens came down with a very bad respiratory virus. We're pretty sure they picked ot up from the pair of Cardinals that have a nearby nest who love to scarf loose grain outside the coop runs. The virus hit fast and hard. The day they showed symptoms, they were their normal happy selves. By late afternoon, we noticed a rattle in one of our Australorpe hens. We took her inside, gave her warm bedding, put electrolytes in her water and fed her some cat food for a protein boost. That evening, my wife stopped at Tractor Supply and purchased a small bottle of Flock Respiratory Aid. Following the directions requires heating the infused oil that this product comes as. Our first bottle did not have a spray head, so we used gloves to apply to her head, comb, waddle, her neck and under her feathers. The directions said for bad symptoms to put 2 or 3 drops in the mouth. We did this with her, and it had an instant calming effect on her. By the next morning, all 7 Australorpes were infected and rattling so badly that we began to realize this may wipe out all of the hens we have in this particular coop. There are 7 Australorpes, 4 Buff Orphingtons and 7 Sapphire Gem hens in the coop. We have 6 other coops and our biggest fear was the virus spreading to our other coops. Some with very expensive breeds. All of the Australorpes and all but one Sapphire Gems came down with the virus. The only hens that did not get sick at all were our 4 Buff Orphingtons. They were b directly exposed amd never showed a single symptom. By the second day, we noted that the first hen we treated was improving, and used the rest of the small bottle we had to treat the others. We also ordered this larger bottle of Flock Shield Respiratory Aid with the spray nozzle from Amazon for next day delivery. Over a three-day period, we treated each hen with Flock Shield and noticed that they were getting better and better. Quickly at that. By day Four, the rattling was completely gone and our hens were back to good health. They thanked us with 14 eggs today. We made certain that we were handling everything with gloves and scrubbing before interacting with our other chickens. We have 8' of space between our coops in our Chicken areas. This and cleaning between coops kept the virus from spreading. This stuff saved an entire coop of 18 hens from a virus that would have certainly wiped them out had we not obtained and used Flock Shield. We just ordered another bottle to keep on our shelves for any future virus issues that arise. AWESOME RESULTS FROM THIS PRODUCT! 5 STARS
