I’ve used this mix to make iced horchata drinks at home. The powder blends well, especially when mixed with cold milk or added to a shaker cup. Best Mixing Ratio I Found: • 2 tablespoons of mix • 8 ounces of cold milk • Shake or whisk until smooth Pros: • Smooth, café-style texture • Pleasant cinnamon flavor • Easy to make consistently Cons: • Flavor can taste light if mixed with water instead of milk • Sweetness level is on the higher side Overall: A convenient way to get a horchata-style drink at home. Works best with milk for a richer flavor.

Pros: A good switch from chocolate. This makes an amazing creamer for all drinks. It works best melted so there aren’t chunks of powder. If you want it cold, then melt it with a tiny amount of liquid, then add and mix with your cold beverage. I put the packaging in a ziplock to keep it fresh! Cons: Priced a bit high for the value. It does take a good amount for a strong taste, but your drink will smell good.

The Big Train Vivaz Horchata Blended Crème Beverage Mix smells sweet and inviting, but the flavor just doesn’t taste like traditional horchata. The cinnamon and vanilla notes are faint compared to what we expected, and it comes across more like a generic sweet drink than the authentic rice-milk flavor we love. The sugar content is pretty high, which makes it taste extra sweet but not necessarily better. Value-wise, buying a big bag wasn’t the best choice for us since we don’t enjoy it, and now we have a lot left. That said, we still trust Big Train products overall and plan to try other flavors that might suit our taste better.

If you like horchata this may be for you. Super easy to mix. Unfortunately I have a huge sweet tooth and this wasn't as sweet as I prefer from the mix alone. Adding my own sweetener to the mix fixed the problem but I also found myself adding extra cinnamon. Still, much easier to use this mix than making it from scratch and will most likely buy again.
