Crying Shame
It's a crying shame that a great album like this can't get a proper remastered deluxe release. This is a wonderful album that is not done justice by this overpriced crappy sounding version. The music is so good I guess I'll have to live with it till a better sounding release comes along.

Incredible Memories
I got this for my brother who was very sick. We had gone to a concert when we were teenagers & about 10 years ago went to a concert at a small venue & were right up close to the stage. At intermission they were out in the lobby for people to come meet them. We had an incredible time. I had lost my copy of the CD so I ordered & got it in 2 days.Just wanted to share these memories with him one last time & play the CD for him. Thanks POCO.

... Poco record I owned and I think it their best, though the hard-to-find "Legacy" was right up there ...
This was the first music Poco record I owned and I think it their best, though the hard-to-find "Legacy" was right up there too. Ghost Town and Rose of Cimarron are close thirds. The music creates an environment, each song feels like a place you have been but not appreciated enough. Barbados could be any tropical paradise but also the adventurous feeling that pushes one along on a journey. Heart of the Night, like many love ballads, strikes a familiar feeling of being in an exciting relationship but also inhabits the physical setting of the south. Paul Cotton is to thank for much of this record, but the band's creative chops were operating at full capacity in the arrangements. So much of Poco's catalog seems a bit redundant to me - But the Poco formula, when it works as it does here, should be their Legacy even if it falls short of being Legend.

If you like the tasty sounds of the 70's
You'll like this, it's not metal or anything, but its pretty groovy. Almost an Eagles feel, but a bit more, oh, I don't know, Caribbean/Jazz? Wait till you find out who did the cover art, I won't spoil it, do your own research, it pretty freakin' cool when you find out who did it.

One of the best albums by one of the most underrated groups ever!
One of many great albums from a great group! Album plays well, considering it's age. I had forgotten how much I loved the music on this album. Poco was a very prolific group, with a vast array of albums over the years but this one has to be one of the best! Every song on this album is a hit in my book. Just listening to it takes me back to a simpler, more relaxed time in my life, and it is a break I need and cherish! Really easy to get lost in the beautiful music here.

Their best album.
This is a budget release of the 1978 album "Legend" that went gold. So I could wish for more content from MCA, but I'd have to pay more. As is, this CD has a good sound and and is a pleasure to listen to. There is simply not a bad song on this album. I'm pleased with the service and product that was quickly shipped and was as described.

A middling album by a great band
Poco was one of the great, unheralded bands of the 1970s--they were more countrified, tighter and more vituoristic than the Eagles (their harmonies were much more stirring) and they blazed a path in country-rock that Gram Parsons could only imagine. They made at least three masterpieces: Pickin' Up the Pieces, A Good Feeling to Know and From the Inside. (I would take any of those records over anything by CSN or Neil Young --except Tonight's the Night and Rust Never Sleeps.) Unfortunately by the late 70s, they had lost most of their original members and a lot of their energy. This album finds them exploring a sludgy, Steely Dan-inspired groove--and the album has a mid-tempo laziness to it. The glorious exceptions are the two gorgeous hits, Crazy Love and Heart of the Night. Buy those two downloads, and then snap up the other three Poco records I mentioned. Discover or rediscover one of the hidden treasures of the 1970s.

a ride back in the 70's
By the end of the seventies alot of rock was half rock/ and country , thanks to the Eagles , but this CD from POCO was one or about their best . I had seen them back in 71" , but that was a different group , the tunes are great as of the writing of the lyrics . Its sort of a "vacation CD" , the music bring you to the tropics and are soothing to the ears. I owned this LP back in 79" an still have it , but you cant play a LP in your car , so I bought the CD. It brings back memories an still sounds as good now as it did back then .

Classic seventies album.
I bought this on audio cassette in around 1979 and I have recently bought it again on cd from Amazon. I have always loved this album from when I first bought it and it still sounds just as great today. Every track is very good, Crazy Love and The Last Goodbye are stunning. Poco are not particularly well known in this country but nevertheless they made some very good music especially this album. Don't hesitate, buy this album particularly at this bargain price.

POCO provided a wonderful disc in LEGEND but it does seem to be missing some of the needed soul to make it a real C.S.N.Y...
Sounding very much like The Eagles In 1978 Poco released this LP called LEGEND. I am listening to it at this moment and while i write i find myself forgetting who is actually singing to m left and my mind immediately slips into THE EAGLES and the sound is so genuinely close ( but for the vocals ) that i am fooled for a short time. It is so easy to forget POCO too the industry at the time was so full of other folks who were playing the same stuff. NEIL YOUNG, STEPHAN STILLS, C.S.N.Y... N.R.P.S...OUTLAWS, GRATEFUL DEAD, PURE PRAIRIE LEAGUE, and there are a huge amount that i simply have not mentioned here without going into the Country bands who cross over into the Rock area every once in a while. This was a good disc for POCO, it was solid, with a number of hit tunes from it. If you are into this kind of Country Rock then this is a disc which should be in your collection. For myself i am replacing an LP which was in my collection, i needed to do this and the price was most definitely correct for my intentions. Spigomars

In the Heart of the Night......
I just ordered one of the "used, very-good" copys available on Amazon.ca.It's the gold Masterdisc and I got an honest appraisal from the "seller"I usually don't go past $20.00 on used product but the exception appliesthis time around. I have the original pressing and it's needed a remasterfor over a decade. This gives me the best chance to enjoy this band at theircommercial peak in the best possible light! I will return with a sonic evaluation.UPDATE...August 30th...This is not very dynamic and that fits the profile as itwas remastered in 1995. The tech of the day applies. Considering the price I paidto have this, from a collectors point of view, I did alright. The closest price isabout 35 bucks more. Others claim this mastering is too "bright"....could be true. The songs from this album that appear on the 2CD "Poco Gold" by Universal Music areas good or better than any of the releases to date.....IMHO....

Country rock piacevole
Non saranno gli Eagles, ma questo è senz'altro il loro disco country rock più significativo, se non li conoscete e vi piace il genere non resterete delusi, anzi!
