It works
LQ Horse trailer has led lights on the awning, super bright and kills any good bonfire evening mood..Removed the on/off switch and replaced it with this dimmer.I did need to open the hole up to fit it. Works great and the leds dim down low to keep that bonfire essence 👌

Easy to wire. Works fine. No hum.
This is a high side dimmer. I've installed it in the main salon of my Open Range fifth wheel. It controls 6 recessed 4W LED ceiling lights. I was concerned about install, but it was easy. However, I used a voltmeter. I removed the cover to the circuit breaker box and discovered that all wires connected to the negative side (ground) are solid WHITE and wires connected to the hot side are WHITE/RED STRIPE. The 2 wires connected to the back of the existing on/off switch are essentially the same wire which is the WHITE/RED STRIPE. It is the power wire. If you remove those 2 wires from the switch, one is coming from the breaker box (which provides power) and the other goes directly to the lights. This is where the voltmeter comes in. You have to find out which ONE of the 2 wires is coming from the breaker box. That is the hot wire. Connect that wire to the RED wire on your new dimmer. Connect the WHITE wire from your dimmer to the other white/red stripe wire that you removed from the original on/off switch (the one that continues to the lights). Now find the white wire that is the negative (ground) wire that runs close to the white/red stripe wire and connect that to the BLACK wire on your dimmer. You've connected what was a 2 wire switch to a 3 wire dimmer. The white/red stripe and the white wire are actually one wire (2 separate wires bundled together), however they are stripped apart in order to make the connection at the original on/off switch. I was lucky because when I found the white negative/ground wire, it was cut and the two ends were joined together in a wire nut. How I used the voltmeter was place the BLACK lead of the voltmeter into the wire nut that contained the spliced white wires and the RED lead of the voltmeter to each of the white/red stripe wires and see which one reads 12 volts. The one that goes to the lights won't read anything. AND, that is wiring a 12 volt dimmer for dummies. Hope this makes it clear for all of us electrically challenged souls. In the breaker box photo, you can see that the wires to the right of the blue blade breakers are White/Red stripe. Always turn off the circuit breaker for the RV at the pedestal if you go digging around in your circuit breaker box in the RV.

Easy to install looks nice
This looks really nice in my RV. The instructions were easy enough to follow for the installation. I wish I could dim the lights more, they seem to only dim to about 40-50%.

Works great.
The dimmer switch great. It has a smooth adjustment from full power to minimum power without flickering. It is slightly larger than the regular switch.

Ground Wire
You have to make sure you find a ground wire to tap into or a place to get a chassis ground. The dimmer will not work without one. I was able to pull (fish) a wire thru the slide out ceiling for one switch ; but a heck of a time finding a wire that was accessible on the the wall next to the door. I gave it 2 stars for "value" as I thought these are pretty expensive for small switch made in China, but it matched the others. I used another type of dimmer switch for the other side. It was a simple round dial type that cost half as much. Oh well...

Works great with my camper LED lights
I installed this dimmer on an LED light circuit in my small camper and it is working as expected. The lights that came with the camper are basic LEDs. They are ok but way too bright sometimes. This dimmer allows smooth control from 100% to around 20% brightness. Note that not all lights are compatible with a dimmer. It's sometimes hard to tell but if your lights have a mechanical switch (click) it should work. If your lights have a touch sensor for example, they may not turn on. Also, if there is anything other than lights on the circuit, there might be an issue. For example, in my case there was a USB charging port on the same circuit that would make a buzzing noise when the lights were dimmed. I had to rewire the port to another circuit.
