Organic Whole Chicken, with Giblets, Free Range, 5 lb

I've been buying these Purdue Harvestland Organic Whole Chickens for a while now and I have neverreceived one with giblets or any other organs included. That's ok with me, I wouldn't cook and eat them anyway, but... AMAZON NEEDS TO CORRECT THE TITLE AND DESCRIPTION OF THIS PRODUCT. I'm not the first one to comment on this and, at this rate, won't be the last.Now as for the chickens... the first couple were absolutely wonderful. Moist and very flavorful. Everyone commented on how good they were—unsolicited comments. The next one was very fatty, which surprised me-- especially since they are suppose to be vegetarian fed. This last one was not as tender as the first 3-4. It was good --just not as tender. They've all been prepared the exact same way. I've vertical roasted with the same spices & herbs used. They were all cooked at the same oven temperature (425) and approx. same amount of time (1 hr +/- ) with a thermometer measuring over 165 degrees in multiple locations.I have to wonder if, with their advertising raising the awareness of & the demand for these organically raised birds, plus a bird flu epidemic that's causing the killing of thousands or millions of chickens if... corners are beginning to be cut. I certainly hope not.That all said, as I put together another order, I've already added another one to my shopping cart.

Five Pound Free Range Whole Chicken. DeLecTable & Juicy When Roasted In Oven. Worth The Money Spent.

This chicken is more like perdue than most organic birds, which suggests either its range is not so free or the genetics of soft bones has been mastered by Perdue. Soft bones are typical of US market chickens, and you are what you eat. The ones I have gotten from amazon have had slight odor, unlike WF birds. Brining removes odor and yields a nice result.

I’ve been buying this organic chicken and it is very good. The website description says it’s 5 pounds. However when I received my order it seemed small and I weighed it on my food scale and it’s only 3 pounds but was charged for 5 pounds.

So happy to find organic fryers that are not an “arm and a leg”😂

it has a nice flavor and what I love the most is that it is organic. When is available buy them they sell fast.
