I ordered this switch fully expecting it to be junk, I mean, $9.99 for a 5 port gigabyte switch, pfffff!To my absolute shock, it works BEAUTIFULLY! I'm sharing 3 devices on it, speed and pings are off thewall compared to WiFi, it's well built, the metal housing is nice, the connectors are quality, 10/10.No configs, no apps to run, just plug a cable into your modem modem and you're good to go!If I could recommend one thing - get little rubber feet for the base, keeps it in place.Buy it!

When it arrived, I couldn't believe how small the box was to fit 5 cables. This device is very compact, would be great for travel - easy fits in a laptop bag and it comes with its power plug for a regular electrical outlet. It’s easy to setup with no software installation or configuration needed. I like the exterior of the switch that made of a metal, which can help with heat buildup (better than plastic) and makes it durable. My computer connected through this switch and seems like it works perfectly fine. So far, I have seen no connection issues. Certainly a good buy if you need to add an extra network ports.This switch works well, it’s affordable and dependable. I am satisfied and highly recommend this product!

Purchased this switch to upgrade my entire network to 2.5G with a 10G fiber backbone connection to other sub-switches in my network. While the switch advertises that it supports 1G/2.5G/10G, you CANNOT have all three modes active at the same time. You have to choose weather you want the web-managed switch in 2.5G/10G mode or 1G/10G mode.In order to get it into 1G(1000M) mode, you need to connect to the web-managed switch with the 2.5G device connection; change the setting in the port setting tab, save, then reboot. The attached image is directly from Sodola support. The devices are shipped by default in 2.5G/10G mode, so connecting to it with an older device with 1G networking will not be recognized until this setting is changed in the switch web management screen.The device comes with a super basic instruction leaflet. However, a 66 page web manual .pdf is available, but must be requested from support directly. It was not available anywhere on their website for download.If you have older devices with only 1G (1000M) networking, and you want to plug in newer 2.5G devices at the same time, you can not do it with this switch. I did decide to keep it and not return, yet this is very disappointing. I ultimately had to alter my network design to accommodate the lack in 3-way network functionality at the same time, as I still have some older 1G devices in my network.This information was very unclear in the product description of the device on Amazon and on their website. Something to consider if you are looking to purchase this device.

Been looking at SFP+/SFP28 switching and came across this. Since I have used other off brands like Mokerlink decided to give this Sodola SL-SWTG3C12F a chance. As a Cisco/Juniper network engineer I am impressed!Findings about this switch:-It is powered by the RTL9313 SOC.-Latest firmware 1.1.1.25-The CLI is Cisco-lite with limited routing options (no BGP for example).Power usage(Kill-a-watt):Base unit, no Modules - ~4wSingle - RJ45 10G-BaseT SFP = ~3wSingle - SMF 10G SFP = ~1wSingle - DAC SFP(passive) = ~0.15wtotal power with 11 SFPs (two SMF, two RJ45, 7 DACs) - ~13wThe main cons about this switch(I will not remove stars for these due to the price):- the 40mm 2pin fan([email protected]). It is loud and always runs at max RPM. I pulled that fan out for a Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX and used the FL10 resistor inline cable that comes with that kit. The CFM is about the same as the stock Sodola fan and makes almost no noise. I cannot hear it in my wood lab rack at the very least. Running this switch on that fan with 2 RJ45 10G-BaseT SFPs, two SMF 10G SFPs, 6 DACs and the switch gets a bit warm, but its not any warmer then the PA220 or the Mokerlink G24410GSM above it.- SFP+ to SFP+ same metric on this switch caps at about 8.3Gb/s. Not a huge issue when you are not expecting to push max bandwidth per port, but this appears to be a limitation on the RT9313 SOC.- Routing on this switch caps at 6.8Gb/s, which is fine for most use cases but my Mokerlink G24410GSM (RTL9301 SOC) routes at 9.3Gb/s which is why this Sodola switch is uplinked to the Mokerlink for L3 routing.But considering this switch is about $240, can be bought for 160-180 with amazon discount codes (I got mine for 180 shipped), is fully featured except for BGP, runs near line rate port to port, has a decent WebGUI and fully featured CLI, I have to recommend this to anyone looking for a decent 10G SFP+ switch.

Extremely compact and gets the job done. I bought it to hard wire my living room TV and some other components. It tucks right into the back of the cabinet where it’s accessible but doesn’t take up space.

Having bought very expensive QNAP 10G switches with "loop detection" that kept detecting a loop that didn't exist ... thought I'd try this switch at 1/3rd the price. Plugged it in, connected some Cat8 cable RJ45 and viola ... it worked. I didn't even need load the UI (it's managed switch). Check transfer speeds and they were accurate at 1130 MB/s (theoretical max is 1250 MB/s). Super impressed with this unit, inexpensive gold star in a field of very expensive garbage.

I have bought tons of tech items on Amazon, and more specifically I have bought many Sodola switches. Up until this specific switch I have been happy. Unfortunately, hospitalization for medical reasons precluded my performance verification of this switch until today. This switch has ports 3 through 8 completely dead. The first two ports function as expected. The ports are configurable in the firmware, but completely dead and nonresponsive.
