I love how all the chemical companies pushing their "it only shortens the duration, it doesn't get rid of symptoms." Well, guess what? Getting rid of symptoms is masking them. I swear by these Umcka products for colds and bronchitis. I have always purchased the cherry flavored syrup that they sell to minimize the symptoms and duration of a cold. It works quite well in my experience. So, I decided to try their hot drink. This drink has the same main ingredient as the other Umcka products which is called Pelargonium sidoides, a medicinal plant from South Africa. But, this has a different delivery compared to the syrup. I liked this actually because when you are sick with a cold and cough, the warm drink soothes the throat, larynx, and bronchial tubes. To me it is a very comforting drink, with a lemony flavor from real lemon. It has xylitol to sweeten so it's not loaded with sugar to make it overly sweet. I found it helped shorten the duration of a cold I just recently had. It made things bearable and I could still get things done whereas everyone else that had the cold stayed in bed. I will buy this product again and get the rest of my family to drink it, also, if needed in the future.

Works especially well for viral type sorethroats and associated bronchial inflammation and coughs - nips it in the bud and shortens course as advertised if taken within 1-2 days of onset. For these symptoms, I highly recommend it. However, after having used for several bouts of viral colds, it did not seem to help prevent or ameliorate severe sinus congestion and drainage at all. I had to resort to other treatments after finishing 3 days of Umcka (1 box ), and my sinuses were still very blocked up....
