I researched for two days on which headset I would buy. I'd just gotten an ASUS Strix laptop, a headset is essential due to gaming laptop fan volume! What became very quickly apparent was website, after website, after website having this model at #1 in their lists, often above far pricier models. This seemed weird, too good to be true so I started doing more research. I went to rtings website and got a list of every headset on the market, and began comparing the specs and reviews of the Blackshark V2 against top end, highest priced sets, and mid range ones in the same price bracket. I also did this process on other well known tech websites. The results were astonishing! This headset got rated better than models 2-2.5x the price! After probably 10 hours of researching and cross referencing I felt there was no other option and decided on the special edition model. I've tested it out now and I am blown away. The sound quality is astounding, the best I've experienced with a gaming headset - easily. It was rated as having very good neutral sound (true sound, without muddying from effects and enhancements), and it really does. Everything is crystal clear, bass sounds are punchy without distortion, mid range is all there, and treble sings. Also, the noise cancelling is excellent, it keeps the 49db fan noise of my machine completely silenced to my ears. The headset is also incredibly comfortable, and I have very sensitive ears so make of that what you will. I find the build quality fantastic. The sound card and synapse app that allow EQ customisation is a true game changer. Any minor shortcomings the audio range may have can be completely rectified and bring out the full potential of these amazing headphones. To that end I found a brilliant guide from a music producer on reddit and I heartily recommend these settings: In Synapse: Keep volume below 75 (74 is recommended, this is to prevent audio outs which can occur at higher levels). *This doesn't affect the physical volume using the knob on the set* Turn all enhancements off. Set custom EQ with these in the following order: 0, 0, -3, -3, +1, 0, +3, -1, -4, +8 THX Spacial is personal preference, I personally use "Dolby Atmos For Headphones" on my laptop as I find it superior, but there are a fair amount of games that specifically use the former, so I'll experiment. Overall this is a truly exceptional headset, especially considering the price. I'm a solid loyal customer from now on, I look forward to a V3 down the line! 10/10

Before settling for the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 wireless I tried the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro and Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro, both retailing for a little either side of £300, I’ve also previously owned the Steelseries Arctis 9, Astro A40, Logitech G Pro X and the older wired Blackshark V2’s, this headset is up there with the best of them. The sound profile is excellent, base is prominent whilst not overpowering, you can easily switch between standard and custom EQ’s or switch between pre-defined game EQ’s all easily changeable through a button on the headset. They’re loud enough, sound great for music and Spatial Audio for gunshots is superb, you’ll have no issue knowing where the enemy is. To get the most out of the headset it’s worth connecting them to a computer using the Synapse 3 software to enable features such as sidetone/mic monitoring and bass enhancement, along with setting your custom EQ etc. I did this then now just use them in my PS5. In terms of looks, they’re quality, granted the Steelseries Nova Pros are imo the better looking if you’re thinking of wearing them out and about for music, but in terms of an out and out gaming headset, the helicopter pilot design holds up well, especially in the white. I’d personally like to see the mic be a little more adjustable, like the turtle beach stealth pro, flick it up out the way or even better, both the Steelseries retractable mic, not that it’s bad and it is detachable. Whilst it doesn’t have a changeable battery, battery life is incredible, I’ve had several few hour long sessions without the need to charge. It does have Bluetooth, and whilst its not simultaneous with game audio like the more expensive TB and SS, a quick double tap of the function button easily switches between game and BT. In terms of comfort, it’s exceptional, full over ear design that you can play with for hours without discomfort, never seems to get too toasty. Far more comfortable than the much more expensive TB’s which have a pinch to them. As far as the mic goes it’s as good as they come, feedback from multiple fellow gamers who’ve heard me on multiple headsets all vouch for that. This is definitely a key selling feature of this headset, if voice quality is on your priority list then you’ve found what you’re looking for. Wireless range is fine, I can get to the opposite corner of my house with solid brick walls before I lose signal. In summary they sound great whether gaming or for media, comfortable, great functionality and good customisation, but remember to get the most out of them use the PC! For the money you won’t be disappointed!!

I put the 4 stars for 4 different reasons that I liked the headphones. Comfort, Aesthetic, Sound quality and Build. Each of these I loved about the headphones and was a big win for me, they were incredibly comfortable, strong build, the sound from my game was amazing and they looked great. the over ear cushions were really nice and let my ears breath as well as noise cancelling the sound around me to an okay level. For a strong and rigid build they are fairly lightweight which I liked as it didn't push my head down. The one star that is missing that I don't think is talked about enough in the reviews is the mic quality, for this amount of money I wanted a good gaming headset of which I got half. I put 4 stars because I wanted to be fair about the product as they are very good. However, the mic, before the Razer black sharks, I used and have since gone back to using my headphones that I have been using for 8 years, the turtle beach PX24, they have lasted me forever and I love them, the right ear has snapped off but is held on by the audio cable and still makes good sound, people in games have said I have a nice voice or sound like a radio producer because my microphone is so good and asked what mic/headset I had so they could get it. I say all of this because they have given me very high standards for gaming headsets should be like, they are a cheap headset that hasn't deteriorated in quality since the day I got them. Meaning when I bought the Razer blackshark V2 I had all of this in mind. For the Blackshark V2 mic, my friends were saying at first that I sounded like I was talking into a tin can, after some tweaking on a few different programmes on Razer to configure them that issue was gone, but I also cut in and out while talking, as well as my voice volume would fluctuate every sentence, meaning my friends only heard half of the sentence. they couldn't tell what I was saying and I always went from quiet to loud or vice versa. Even with trying to configure them more and tweaking different settings for hours with my friends giving feedback, nothing made it better, and we deduced that it was just the bluetooth connectivity that wasn't able to transport my voice in good quality as that is a common problem. Not saying another bluetooth headset won't be better but just for me it wasn't good enough. This was a massive let down as they had been so good up until this point and I was so sad to send them back, but at least I went back to the px24's which I would buy again but I want something different. If you have a separate standalone mic then these couldn't be better for you, highly recommend, but im a student and I don't want to spend more money than this to put a separate microphone as I simply don't have it as im meant to be saving. Overall they're a very solid headset very nice and very comfortable, the sound that comes through the ears in amazing and I could wear them really comfortably for the hours on end that I was trying to fix the microphone. Like I previously said if you have a separate microphone or are looking to buy a separate microphone the the hyper x quad cast s is a very good one (my gf has it), it looks cool and sounds amazing, with these headphone it would be the dream set up for me but I don't have the money to buy the microphone so that dream is going to have to wait for now. At this price point it's hard to beat this headset, there are a few options that go toe-toe all round or edge past this in a couple categories, but for a budget - midrange option these are some of the very best in terms of mic quality! Microphone: The microphone here and specifically the v2 (2023) model sounds incredibly full and natural, nothing stands out as a negative here and arguably one of the best headset mics to date. The fact its detachable is another pro here! I'd personally advise against the v3's as the mic in my experience is a noticeable downgrade, whilst this can be remedied via EQ in the software, it's still pales in comparison to the v2 (2023) microphone. Audio quality: Much like the microphone the sound offered by these are incredibly full and reliable for gaming, comes are clear and spatial sound/awareness are great. As these are not open back when paired with the sound quality here and comfortable ear ups, you have a truly immersive game winning experience! Build quality: Build quality on these are solid, not the moat amazing but on par with or better than other options at this price however the v3 does have Build quality that surpasses these. Comfort is king here and these are incredibly comfortable for long periods, with well cushioned earecups and a minimal pressure from the comfy headband. The rechargeable battery is stellar offering long session use before needing to be recharged. Some standout features: - Volume dial on the left ear up - Easy and quick to mute thanks to the mute button also on the left earcup offering good feedback - The ability to use these as wired headphones or wireless thanks to the included dingle (USB A) - Best in class microphone ideal for broadcasting, content creation or competitive gaming communications I'd highly recommend these and highly advise listening to a muc test so you can hear how great of a mic these have for a headset.

I really don't know why other reviewers are slating this headset, I have just purchased the V3 pro headset to replace the V2 pro headset that I had previously. Compared to the V2 sound quality of the headset is in everyway superior. The 50mm drivers have way more range and bass and despite all the reviews saying that the microphone is worse than the V2 out of the box I just have to disagree. It is on par if you use the EQ. Is it worth £100 more than the V2 pros; short answer... yes absolutely. The only downside is the short USB A to C cable used to connect the headset to the PC, if it were a little longer then that would make them perfect. Get an extension and all is forgiven. After watching youtube reviews I got buyers remorse. But now after getting the headset and using it, I would buy them again without hesitation. *** Addendum*** quick fix to make the mic as good as it can be, take the pop filter off... it really makes a difference.

I purchased the Razer Blackshark V2 pro (2023) back in March and it has proved to have been massive mistake. When I bought this headset it was on offer for £178.99 and while I write this review the price is at £153.56; there is a reason behind this price drop. My experience with this headset was mostly positive until the other day, when I was pulling the earcups apart in order to manoeuvre the headset around my head when, I suddenly felt some tension. Within a instant, the inner part of the right hinge snapped off; breaking breaking at the plastic holding the metal screws in place. This was devastating considering I only had the headset for 45 days. I have owned many sets of headphones before this one, ranging in value from £20 - £90. And even the cheaper ones lasted a couple months to a year. The Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) is the first 'premium' gaming headset have owned. I was a little uncomfortable spending as much as I did for the Blackshark, but I figured since Razer was a well recognised brand, I would probably be okay buying one of there products as it would likely be of high quality and last me a long time. Obviously I was wrong. After looking into the issue had I experienced, I found many others have had this problem. I am certain this is either a build quality or a quality control issue on Razer's part for the following reasons: 1) The right hinge is typically the one that breaks. 2) The headset will typically last around 2 months. 3) The black version one seems be the most afflicted by this 'defect' although the white version doesn't seem to completely immune. 4) This problem only occurs with the 2023 edition. I have not found a single case of the 2020 edition breaking in this way. (The console specific version have just been released so it is too soon to tell if they also suffer from this affliction.) Plus, everyone I have spoken with who has experienced this issue, claims that they were always very careful with the headset; making sure they never dropped it, smashed it against anything nor stretched it beyond its limit. And I can't say I have any reason to doubt them considering I, myself was very careful, more so then any other headset I had previously owned. Despite all this, would have forgiven Razer if they had simply honoured their warranty agreement and sent me a replacement, covered the repair cost or the headset or at the very least sent me a replacement hinge so I could repair it myself. They of course did none of these. Instead, I was dragged through their customer support process, speaking with a different presentive each day. And after two weeks of back and fourth emails, they hit me with the: "After careful investigation and inspection our warranty team has determined that the damaged was customer induced." I also couldn't return it with Amazon because it was 14 days past the return window. In summary, I would not recommend buying this headset. If you want a wireless gaming headset at this price point, I would recommend getting either: the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7, the HyperX cloud III (wireless) or the Corsair HS80 Max. All of these are good headsets and they come form trusted brands that I have had positive experiences with. And if, for whatever reason you still want to go with Razer for your headset, the Kraken V3 pro is probably the best you are going to get. I genuinely brought this with such high expectations but Razer have only let me down. They are not the Luxury gaming peripheral brand they portray themselves to be.

Sound quality and sound cancellation 10/10. Unfortunately the mic distorted my voice which irritated others and the headset itself was too tight, causing jaw pain. Regretfully returned for those reasons.

Longest-lasting and highest-quality headset I've owned. I have had this for over 2 years, and it still works perfectly despite inevitable accidental instances of it being dropped or yanked out of my PC. There are cheaper options available, but in terms of value, this wins. It is very comfortable to wear. The cable is long enough. It has nice cloth covers for the ears and the headband, which are breathable and feel great; they also haven't cracked like the fake leather material found on most headsets usually does after a while. The sound quality is excellent and can be tweaked to your liking on PC using the Razer synapse app. The mic's good as far as I know, and it's never had issues with echoing or game audio being picked up by the mic. It's easily adjustable. The fact that the mic can be removed is nice. Overall, this is definitely a better option than repeatedly buying cheap headsets, which, in my experience, tend to break even if you look after them.
