Very slick, good lather, excellent for my DE razor and nice manly scent.
I love this shave cream. Has a nice manly scent and provides lots of glide. Excellent shave cream and I have used over 20 different types of shave creams and this is one of my go to's. The scent is on the strong side and really come down to personal preference. I am a bit picky over scents and generally gravitate towards citrus. Tabac is not a citrus scent at all and a little difficult to describe. Musky is what comes to mind. After trying lots of different creams, I always come back to this one and it provides a great shave for my DE razor. I usually throw this cream in my travel bag to have something different while on vacations.

Love Tabac
Doesn't lather up much, but still makes for a good shave. Sometimes I use this, sometimes I use their shave soap (stick or puck), and sometimes I use their shave foam. All great products with a great scent.

Premium shaving soap
Does exactly what a wet shaver wants- keeps beard soft while shaving and lubricates the skin. I also use it when shaving my scalp. I'm looking for that shiny scalp look. Scent is spicy at first but softens to a mellow gentleman's scent.

Not for me; unique scent
As a lubricating cream, absolutely excellent. But for me, the scent just didn't work; YMMV. My advice, if you've never used Tabac, see if you can find it at a department store (gosh, remember those?) or somewhere, and check the scent. Many, many people like/LOVE it. It's a personal preference. It's old school (which by itself is what I prefer), but the name, Tabac, definitely invokes "tobacco." It's pretty potent, and maybe because I'm a non-smoker it's off-putting to me. If it had a different scent, I'd get it again w/o a second thought because it gives a good, smooth shave. If you love it, fantastic! If you've never used it, see if you can find it to smell it. Otherwise, it's not terribly expensive, get a tube and give it a try, as I did. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish the tube, but let's just say it was at the back of the rotation and took a while to use, b/c I really didn't like the overall experience. Hope you do!

The smell
I was using many different soaps and creams for my wet shaving adventures but this one tops them all. The smell blew my mind. Would put 6 stars if I could. Amazing!

A One Of A Kind Classic!
Man, the smell of this stuff takes me back! It’s definitely in the vintage category in a forgotten yet timeless sort of way. It’s really well composed and unique but as soon as you smell it, it will instantly remind you of a bygone era - like opening a time capsule - as it’s unlike anything out there today. Some have compared the smell to a 70’s men’s room and yeah, I get that but in a good way if you can believe it.The performance is really good too which makes it a definite bargain. It provides a nice protective layer so the razor can glide over your stubble with ease, leaving your skin buttery smooth. Tabac is an absolute must try and a true classic that deserves to be in every wet shavers rotation!

Smell isn't as bad as people say.
Once lathered the smell mellows out into something quite nice, but the performance of this cream leaves much to be desired.
