Its pretty easy to use. The craving on the handle and thumb button is suitable for right hand writers. It's just like holding a normal pen and writing.However one should be careful in applying pressure on the material and write carefully. Irregular pressure or shivering hand will have worse outcome. It's of course an art.One might not be able to engrave as perfect as a programmed engraving machine. However, after good practice, I believe one could do a good engraving with this tool.I attached my first attempt in an old plastic ruler. It's not bad.I have not attempted on metals and woods yet.It has a good tip and the tip rotates (in contrast to zigzag motion) when pressing the thumb button.I haven't checked for battery draining rate as I have rechargeable battery of 2450 mAh which is also compatible with this device.Overall worth for money.Giving four star and not five because I have not used it for long time and don't know about its durability.

Worst Product ever! I always check the reviews and ratings before buying things on amazon and they turn out pretty good always but this time it was a horrible experience. I was very keen to have this pen and use it for something very special I planned for someone but it ruined everything. The pen doesn’t work at all.. I changed the batteries alot of times but it didn’t work at all.. the quality is so bad all dusty and rough inside when I opened the pen to put in the batteries.. finishing is terrible. Unfortunately I couldn’t return the product because the packaging was torn cause i had to rip it apart to take the pen out. But I did try to get it repaired but nothing worked. I’m so frustrated with this experience. Please don’t buy this one just because it’s cheap in price.

The product works as claimed. I tried writing on wood, glass, ceramic, plastic and steel. I was able to write my initials on all these items.The etching device uses two AA battery cells.The etching/engraving is not very deep, as its a low-powered and light device. But its permanent and legible.One has to have a very delicate hand and good control for writing. This is because, the device vibrates so you will tend to make a mess of what you are trying to write. As a work around, I write the letters using OHP marker on the surface first and then run the etching pencil over it twice.I got one extra nib along with the device.

it is a good product u can write on almost any surface. it is better if the pen operate on usb but it hass battery maybe dont work for long time . overall good. seller dont give free 1 sharp tip as said in product discription.
