Being a health and fitness enthusiast I have cam across many books on health and fitness but LIGHT ON YOGA became one of my favourite book.Not because it is written by BKS IYENGER But for the techniques elaborated in this book.The language is so simple and all the poses are so explainatory that even if you are a newbie you will understand every thing.I am a fitness freak and doing yoga since ages but this book realised me that I am a newbie and I don't know any thing.Well the most hatred thing in this world is when someone kick to break your ego.And Sir BKS IYENGAR Sir realised me that I am nothing. I can simply bet that even if you are a yoga teacher you might not have heard about many yoga poses mentioned in this book.Light On Yoga is a GITA OF YOGA.This book deserves a huge respect .Go for it guys ! Good Book for beginners to Intermediate !!
It's a self study kind of book. You can have it as a reference and learn so many yoga Asana by yourself. Guruji have explained each and every posture step by step along with when to breathe in and out. Also He has explained health benefits of every asana. There is a section in which He explains breathing exercises too. So if a particular person is suffering from particular ailment, he/she can refer asana beneficial for healing from that ailment. A must have for any level yoga practitioner.

Really good book with clear instructions.
Course wise yagasanas are given at the back of the page. For eg, week one which asanas can be performed.Each asanas has description of what are benefits and who should not do it as there might be some people who are suffering with particular disease. Also diseases wise asanas also given at the back of the book. I would suggest to do course wise asanas mentioned in the book. I am done with 10 weeks asanas. This is really a masterpiece. Everyone should have this book. 1st week you will feel as if its really tough, But then your body starts responding magically and you will feel the difference. I dont think you need to go out for any other exercise. This is our in-depth years of years of research for the human being. People should adopt this as a lifestyle.
