Just what I expected from reviews
For the price I was amazed at how clear the glass is. The dot is generated by ambient light down the green fiber.. so , total darkness shooting, get a laser sight. Or one with a battery ,but for us non vampire hunters it has a remarkable dot fading to a ghost dot with little light and back bright with light ... it's cause and effect . I did step in my closet and left the door cracked 6 inchs or so, with only ambiant light from the window and it had a visible dot. If it holds zero I'm going to be extatic. A packable sight that don't need batteries...A+ in my book. Oh and forget that it looks like a 1,200 ACOG ... it's not a 1,200 ACOG. it's just sexy like one. After taking it to the range twice and purposely rough handling it .....IT HOLDS ZERO! It's dead on at 25 yards and dead on at 100 yards. Mounted to My 223 AR 15 pistol .

Doing the modification with the tad longer screws and using loctite.
so far I've been happy with these, take out the screws holding it to the mount. Go to your local Ace Hardware and get hex head screws that are about 1/8 longer and loctite, re attach them to the mount, torque down with the loctite on threads, wait a few days and they're good to go. I'm running 4 of these, one on a C-308. So far ALL are holding zero ! Yeah of course it's not the real deal but for the price mine are working well.

Pretty good sight for the price
I bought this sight for my AR15 pistol, at first I was a little disappointed because the green dot wasn't bright enough (I was looking at it indoors) but when I looked at it outdoors the dot became brighter, I installed it and zero it out, took it to the range and the first 75 to 80 rounds were right on the dot but after that the rounds were moving, the sight became loose, I put some thread lock and tightened with pliers and has not loosened up since.(After about 1000 rounds the scope loosened up from the base, I disassembled it, put loctite on the screws and put it back, it works great.)It's a little heavier than my old red dot sight but I like it, I'll probably buy a second one.

Terrible Red Dot Scope
I don't understand how anyone can have a good review of this product.Sure, if inside a building with medium light, you can see the green dot. If you actually look outside in the daylight, you cannot see the dot at all. It has terrible illumination. I bought this for my Airsoft rifle because I liked the look of the ACOG but not an ACOG. I've had a fake one before and it was 1000x better than this one and actually worked on my real AR15. I wouldn't even keep this on my Airsoft M4 much less a real AR15...

Not for home defense
Has one of the best, clearest dots in my collection. As long as you're using it in bright light. Not much of a doin dim light. As long as its on a range toy, no harm ,no foul. Base is removable to mount to carry handles. Looks a lot like a real ACOG. Got that second kind of cool alright.

Practically unusable optic
I'm not sure where all the glowing reviews are coming from. The fiber optic on this sight is practically unusable- it's incredibly dim even with a perfect light source. White the batteries installed (2x ag5, since it doesn't come with any and doesn't tell you what it takes), the dot is only marginally brighter. As a 28 year old with near perfect vision, this sight is almost impossible to use. Heavy? Yes. Certainly bit heavy duty like some are claiming. If you just want an ACOG look alike for a wall hanger, this should do the trick. Anything beyond that and you're wasting your money. I'm no stranger to cheaply made sights, and many of them are well worth the $25 price tag, but this is not one of them. The first photo attached is without the battery, the second is with the battery. Believe it or not, the photos are far more flattering than the optic appears in real life.
