Superb authentic instrument. Well built, very sturdy, nice carving, neat stringing and spot on tuning. I love the tone and the range from a deep resonant bass (or muted depending on technique) to a nice tone and ringing high slap. Play it hard or soft, this drum has it all and is totally authentic.The value for money is superb as is the realisation that you do not have to spend a fortune to get a proffessional sounding, well built Djembe that should last many years and give real pleasure.One of the best purchases I have made - treating myself for my 'retirement' or 'New Beginning' !

I had been researching which Djembe to buy for a while. I tried several in music shops in my local area, these seemed overpriced and made from synthetic materials rather than wood or tended to be 11" or smaller. I had became a bit disheartened.I decided to browse online. I looked on Amazon, eBay and independent shops. I researched and read reviews. This drum really stood out to me, the major benefits being that it is wooden, fair trade and I failed to find a negative review.Lots of people I spoke to advised not to get a drum online as you don't get a feel for the instrument, I am SO glad I ignored them and ordered this Djembe.The delivery was quicker than expected, it was well packaged and came with 3x free instruments which are fantastic quality and a really nice touch. The djembe itself is stunning, sturdy and has the most lovely tone. I love that it has been carved from one piece of wood, which is smooth and feels comfortable to hold. The skin is tight and has a really beautiful mottled pattern which makes it unique.I sometimes struggle when playing other drums to play slap beats, but they come out clear on this Djembe.I am tall (5"11) and found this size (13") perfect to play while sitting (which is what I wanted- I am not strong enough to play standing).I can't find a single negative thing to say about this Djembe, and I really could not recommend it enough. It feels worth a lot more than the price tag.Communication with the seller was also exceptional.Go on, buy one- you won't regret it :D

I was reccomended this seller by my drum teacher, they are beautifully crafted from sturdy thick wood, fairly weighty, with roap tuned goatskin heads, that make a lovely resonent sound when played, mine was ready to play out of the box without need of tuning and the extra percussion instruments they included are good quality and make a great sound, and came in a lovely handmade pouch.If you want that authentic Gahanaian sound definatally check these ones out.

I have been meaning to get myself a Djembe for a long time and when I happened to see this one at what seems like a ridiculously cheap price, I thought it would be worth a punt, especially since there's so many positive reviews.The drum arrived today and it's beautiful. I am not a hand percussionist but a drum set drummer who's used to playing with sticks and my hand drumming skills are limited but sitting down with my Djembe and playing some basic strokes made me instantly fall in love with the thing. Even in the hands of a novice, the drum sounds full and resonant. The bass sound is woofy and the high tone is cutting but not harsh.It's a lot bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. I find it comfortable to sit with on a regular kitchen chair and have the bottom touching the floor.I gotta learn how to play it now. Very excited.

Transaction was very smooth-sailing.Instrument-wise, the djembe was more than what we hoped it would be. The sound is superb and we love the richness of the tone!
