Wonderful Hinoki wood bath stool. Just the perfect size and constructed with the care that is characteristic of the Japanese. It actually perfumed my bathroom. It is and will be treasured!

This item was purchased on Tuesday and received on Friday (blazing fast for those of us living in the middle of the Pacific). This sturdy stool is crafted like the ones you would find in the bath houses in Japan. You can smell the cypress wood as soon as the box is opened. We look forward to many years of great service with this product. Thank you!

My wife is Japanese by birth, and although she's never lived there for any length of time, she still misses the idea of the place. The little stool is a small piece of her ancestral home. It is small, but made of solid wood. It's delightfully smooth and has a slight smell reminiscent of a Japanese bath.

Beautiful little bench used as a footstool in my guest bathroom. Smelled lovely when we first got it although that has since worn off. This is the real thing like they use in Japanese bath-houses, and has super-sturdy construction.

When looking for a wooden stool I saw this one. The description says it is 9 inches tall. When I received it it turned out to be 7 1/2 inches tall. When I went back to the description I saw another description saying it’s about 7 inches tall. The picture in the original description shows a much taller chair than I received. This confusion is very disappointing. The difference of 1 1/2 inches is very important. We really wanted a stool that was 9 inches tall, just like in the advertisement. We are going to have to return this one.
