Might just be the perfect slicer!
I was stunned to see egg slicers on Amazon for well over $20!! Made out of cheap plastic, don't cut all the way through, or made out of cast aluminum that can't put in the dishwasher no less. This egg slicer is reasonably priced, made out stainless steel, lightweight but not flimsy, takes up almost no room in a drawer, and cuts extremely well as the blades go all the way to the bottom.Personally I use this to slice bananas not eggs. Works fantastic! I break the banana up into chunks that fit in the slicer, press down and have perfectly sliced bananas for putting on cereal and oatmeal. I use it every day since much faster and easier to clean up than the single purpose banana slicer gadgets. Also works great when you have a few mushrooms to slice for topping a salad or a pizza. Highly recommend!!!

Useless garbage
After my beloved Westmark broke after 15 years of service, I looked at a replacement. Twenty dollars for an egg slicer (which I mostly use for slicing strawberries, not eggs) seemed excessive, so I looked at alternatives. This is the second "less expensive" slicer I've tried. The first broke with its first use. I used this one three times. It doesn't cut anything--the wires are loose, and the item is flimsy.I have returned it for a refund. I'll either manually slice berries or wait until I can justify replacing the Westmark.Don't waste your money on this junk.

Simple and does a good job
I like this slicer because the eggs gets sliced perfectly without pieces getting stuck on a rim like some plastic slicers I've had. There is good clearance around the egg. It is quite light weight for stainless steel (I thought the base would have been a little heavier), but the wires seem sturdy and tight. I've only used it on about 10 eggs so far, but alas, it seems decent. It is easy to clean.

does what you want when you want hard boiled egg slicing
works well, designed smartly. lightweight, but solid so far and doing the job. great value at price point.how to make boiled eggs cooked perfectly: bring a big (size depends on how many eggs you're doing, but make sure it's enough water that adding X number of cold eggs won't drop the temperature too massively. for a dozen, i use a four or six quart pan, filled about 2/3 of the way) pot of water to a boil. add eggs (straight from the refrigerator), keep it on the stove for 13 minutes. Put eggs in ice water bath for 15+ minutes, and check this post out about peeling eggs: http://lifehacker.com/peel-the-shells-off-a-bunch-of-hard-boiled-eggs-in-unde-1041435929

Egg Slicer
Good kitchen tool for specific uses. Works well, appears to be durable which is the problem with most of these devices. Good so far.

Can't beat it for the price!
I have gone through a number of egg slicers in the past couple of years. When I first moved out on my own I "inherited" a metal egg slicer similar to this from my mother. It was wonderful and worked great for many years. When it began to rust, I knew it was time to move on. I purchased an OXO one, which lasted me a year or two, but it was a total pain to clean and very large/bulky. When I decided that one had given me its best years I moved onto a Kitchen Aide slicer. Much more compact than the OXO and I figured Kitchen Aide was a good company that put out trustworthy products. Not the case this time. After my first use and cleaning it one of the strings snapped. I am very delicate with these things as they are clearly fragile. I was very disappointed. I came across this and thought, "What the heck?! It's cheap!". When it arrived I noticed that it is not quite as robust as that first one I inherited years ago, but is otherwise identical. For the price it is absolutely worth it and it has stayed in better shape over many uses than the Kitchen Aide one did over one use.

Solid Egg Slicer
After having gone through several plastic egg slicers, I ordered this. It is definitely a step above the rest, well made and should be the last one I ever have to purchase. One of the best aspects of this slicer is that the wires finish up beneath the bottom of the section where the egg rests, in other words, the egg is sliced through completely. The wires are strung very tightly so less chance of binding on the bars beneath the eggs, though care must still be taken. Cleaning is fairly easy though I hand wash rather than put through the dishwasher. All in all, a good value for the money.
