Better than OEM plastic
Requires a bit of hole adjustment on my 1993 F-150 sliding rear window, regardless a much better product than the plastic oem latch. Well worth the money. 10 minutes to install.

Fits a 93 F150
Just picked up a 93 F150 and one of the issues it had was a missing rear sliding glass latch. Through a google search I found this metal latch posted on an f150 forum. I would rather have a metal piece then a plastic one. This metal latch fit without any modification to it. Others have mentioned they have had to extend the hole to get it to work, I did not have to on my 93 F150.

Almost perfect.
First off this thing is pretty solid and worth the 5 minutes needed to make it fit. Installed on my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500Just drill out the holes to 5/32 and use a 5/32 chainsaw file to slot the holes closer together. May not have to drill the holes out if you have a smaller round file. Screws that are included worked just fine.

This direct fit item is/not
I replaced the broken plastic latch with this Steel one, and it was a pretty good direct fit, almost. I removed the broken pieces and found I could not use the existing screws for mounting the new locking clip, they were to long. I used the supplied sheet metal screws which were close enough to the right length, but not the screw thread size. Because the screws are NOT the proper diameter I found that a small screw driver could "POP off" the latch from the outside of the vehicle. This is a serious design flaw in replacing the machine screws with smaller sheet metal screws which simply pop out of the holes with virtually NO EFFORT. Vendor should replace the sheet metal screws with new machine screws in all future orders. I alreaqdy did replace them for $0.49 for a pack of 5.

Almost a perfect solution!
I have bought several of the supposed OEM replacement latches from here and other places. They seem to last shorter and shorter time periods before the handle breaks off. I was happy to find a metal latch. This does NOT directly fit a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 factory sliding window!!! The screws that came with this are too small to fit the stock holes and the original screws are too big for the holes in the closer. I ended up drilling the holes out on this and using the original screws which worked pretty well. The other problem is that the holes don't really line up with the stock mounts either, so I had to drill these out even bigger.Overall it just ended up being a bit sloppy. On the plus side, I am REALLY impressed with the overall quality of the item. All they need to do is make the holes slightly wider and in the shape of short slots and it would fit perfectly. I don't expect to ever have to replace this again, as opposed to every 2 to 5 years on the old one. VERY HAPPY that I can lock my truck up tight again.I can't believe that a product this good gets so close to being perfect, wish I could give it five stars but it was not a simple bolt-on replacement and I would worry that someone else may not have the tools to do it right on theirs.

Well made and durable
Bolt holes were a little off but otherwise well made and durable. A lot better than the cheap plastic ones.

Should work
The media could not be loaded. This metal latch should get the job done.It came with seemingly proper sized screws to install. Black finish to match the latch. One of the screws, however, was a different size. I ended up using one of my original screws instead. The holes didn’t quite match up as well as they could. Just by drilling the holes slightly larger, I think they would have gone in easier. Now that it’s installed, I think it’ll serve its purpose. Good product.
