Cozy and Safe
You could build this in your truck bed, or you could build it on the ground then lift it into the truck bed. Both ways are easy. The black pole inside is the most tricky. I bought this model because it was easily advertised for truck cabin access window and that worked out well for grabbing things from the truck while trying to go to bed or keeping your dogs in the cabin comfortably so they can hear your voice and not bug you. Also you can bring phone chargers through. Nice feature The rain cover works really well. The build quality is really good, the poles are good enough ( just follow instructions. It says not to pull the poles through the slips, DONT DO IT, just take your time pushing them through and jimmy the slip over) The room is like having a suite instead of a generic hotel room. It fit two adult males cooomfotably. It slept two parents and a 5 year old Cooomfortably. Half of the comfort came from Using Airbeds truck bed mattress. It fits over the wheel wells with padding so you can sleep over the wheel well too. Some of the best sleep I ever had. My buddy thought so too. I would buy it again. Glad to have this

perfect fit for crew cab toyota tacoma 5ft bed.
great quality truck tent . was so easy to assemble and fit perfectly in my 2012 crew cab tacoma with 5 ft bed . compact truck 5 ft bed fits my truck perfect. plenty of ventalation and rain fly fits very well allowing to tighten up if cold or windy . tent very well built with taped and sewn seams . tent plenty ridged enough to be ok in heavy rain and moderate wind . fabric is a heavy denier far as tents go and very impressed with quality . this model number tent comes with a awning off the back supported by 2 adjustable metal poles and 2 fiberglass poles crossing under awning for rigitity . wife was leary as price was 270.00 but she was very impressed to see it set up and to get into it , cannot wait to go overlanding with this , worth every penny . was shipped to my house very well packaged and arrived with zero damage . would and will absolutly recomend this to anyone wanting a truck tent .

A tent on wheels, what's not to like?
I think we're really going to enjoy using this tent on road trips. Before we do, we figured we better put it up at home so as not to look completely clueless when we're out in public. It took time to work through the instructions, but they were easy to understand. It took a while the first time, but I expect it'll take less time each time we use it. It was easy to question ourselves and whether what we were doing was right... if it was too loose or too tight, crooked or straight. You just have to work through all the steps before questioning the method or the result. It may be difficult for one person to put up by themselves, as it sometimes took both of us just to place a pole in a tight pocket. But once all the poles were in place, it was fairly easy to get situated before setting up the awning. The multiple sized windows are great, the window to access the truck cab window is a plus (and one of the reasons I chose this tent) and the awning is awesome. The only con is that there is no visibility out the windows when the rain fly is on, but that's not a deal breaker. I gave 4 stars for water resistance, and while we haven't used it in real wet weather yet, I'm optimistic it'll be fine. Overall, great tent!

Great tent... but not perfect.
I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra Double Cab and purchased model 57077 (Mid Size Short 6.5Feet Box). Seems to fit just fine. The tent floor reaches from the back of the bed to the edge of the opened tail gate. It's very roomy and I can almost stand up fully in there. I also have a set of Disc-o-bed bunk cots in there and they fit perfectly and still allow for some free floor space. Really happy with this combination. The awning pole claps, however, are another story. Both of these plastic clamps have broken. Napier customer service has replaced the first one quickly and I'm expecting the second one will also be replaced shortly. The first replacement was noticeably thicker and more robust that the original. However, the dimensions are not identical to the original (remember it is stronger) but this required me to cut a larger rectangular hole in the metal awning pole to allow it to work. It's not difficult to do with a Dremel but you've been warned. I've notified Napier of this error also. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. Would be 5 stars if not for the awning pole issue. BTW, I don't know how everyone else gets in/out of their truck tent, but I build a folding stair case that I bring with me (Picture attached) ** Update: Napier replaced the broke poles under warranty. Great service. ** 2018 Update: 2 year and 3 summers later still loving this tent. Held up well against strong 20-30 mph winds and plus gusts last week where other tents folded and collapsed.

Truck tent.
Have used the tent several nights now. Works well and goes up pretty quick and easy once you've done it a couple times. I am happy with the purchase.

Worth the higher price! It's awesome!
I'd first like to say I originally bought the backroadz version before getting this. Having used both the higher price of this is definitely worth it. Its fairly straight forward and easy to set up as the poles and slots are color coated. There is a TON of ventilation once all the flaps are opened. Additionally, my truck has a half depth tool box that I didn't have when I used the previous tent. The tent with the tool box will sit almost flush with the end of the tailgate. The toolbox provides a shelf inside the tent making for a convenient place to store anything. The Carabiner inside the tent is also very hand! I have a small LED light/bug zapper that hooked right on. The tent and bed (crew cab, regular bed, 2500) also fit a queen sized air mattress perfectly. Overall this is definitely worth the investment for having a nice place to camp. The awning is also a nice touch, although I wish it was easier to roll up as it was a little confusing to set up at night.

Looks great. A pole broke on the first setup. UPDATE: not trustworthy
UPADTE after two uses: I was at the start of a week-long trip. First night, my duct tape ”repairs” on one split pole held up. Another pole split, so I had to do a similar “repair” to that. Second night, both poles snapped and the tent hung loosely. As I was headed into remote areas, I had to make the decision to cut the trip short. I just could not count on this tent to hold up, and I am in black bear country (they came for visits each night). I would love to love this tent. When it worked, it was functional, comfortable. But, that was short lived. I’d give it four or maybe even five stars IF the poles would hold up. So many people apparently have had similar issues with these poles. But, if I can’t even rely on the backbones of this tent to work and they fail with first uses, this turned out to be a bad purchase. I’m quite disappointed. If you do take a chance with this tent, make sure to bring along strong duct tape. Hopefully your trip won’t be ruined. This looks like it will be perfect for my needs. Not a heavy truck camper and I usually go on trips from one to a few days. Lots of room for a tent in a mid-sized truck. Wasn’t too difficult to setup the first time, following the instructions. I set it up on the ground first, then lifted it to the bed for final attachments. When disassembling the tent, however, I saw that one section of the long gray pole had split. I’d seen this issue on other reviews, but couldn’t believe happened to me the first time. I’ve used sections of strong duct tape to repair it. I’d love to give another star, but things shouldn’t be breaking on the very first setup.

Great, Well-Designed Truck Tent for 3rd Gen Tacoma
Surprisingly impressed by the creative design features of this tent. VERY happy with the tent overall. Great intro-level setup if you don’t want to commit to a rooftop tent or full-blown $20k+ camper rig. Picture shows it set up on my ‘19 Tacoma. In this instance, I threw a tarp over the top as well due to expected heavy rains in an effort to avoid water running down the cab-side tent wall and pooling in the bed (a slight gap can form between the bed and the tent wall on that side, but that’s really the only issue I’ve encountered to date, and it’s easily remedied). Color-coordinated stakes make it easy to assemble without the directions after the first 1 or 2 times setting it up. This is my first truck tent (so maybe this is standard), but I really appreciated how the tent is designed to come up over the bed rails, spread out wider, and then continue upward - which creates more space inside the tent and also allows you to use the bed rail as a convenient little shelf for drinks, headlamps, phones, etc. The tailgate awning is also clutch for staying dry while getting in/out of the tent in the rain. I’m a big fan. Would definitely recommend.
