SubstrateSource Alternanthera Bettzickiana - Decorative Live Aquatic Plant for Terrariums and Paludariums - (Bettzickiana, 1 Bunch)

These plants were shipped out via FedEx immediately after i purchased and got to me within 3 days!! (I ordered floaters from another company who also sent out immediately via usps and I'm still waiting for updates on tracking :/) I got really nice bundles of each of the two plants I ordered! They came looking completely healthy and bushy. I still did a quick hydrogen peroxide dip then rinsed in dechlorinated water. This was my first time ordering plants online and I'm super happy with this purchase, will buy more in the future from this company again.

I ordered 5 different live plants for my 50 gal aquarium. They arrived nice and green and beautiful. I was worried because I live in Minnesota and it had been 0 degrees. The delivery process must keep them at a decent temperature. I placed them all in the gravel with a long tweezer and then added special fertilizer tabs under their planting areas. I’ll remove the 2 tall fake ones once the live ones grow taller. Hint…use small bobbers on fake plants to keep them upright LOL.

My no filter tank had reached stability - the shrimps were happy and about to start breeding, the snails had laid a bunch of eggs with baby snails popping out, the plants were pearling, bacteria in harmonious balance, and everything was going great. So I figured it was time to complete the vision with this last ludwigia plant. The plant arrived in good condition with most of the stems rooting. I got them stuck in the substrate and they created a beautiful effect with the red leaves and added texture to the landscape. I was so happy. Shortly after, I woke up to find one of my shrimps dead. And as the day progressed the other shrimps were clearly distressed, losing motor function. I realized that the plant must’ve been coated in some pesticide that was toxic to my shrimps. I acted quickly, removing the plants and moving my shrimp to a hospital bowl with fresh water. A blue one that had started going belly up got better and I thought I had saved them successfully. Unfortunately it looks like the (probably nerve) damage that was done was too much and the rescued blue one died and now the other red one seems to be not far behind. The baby snails have all disappeared. The only survivors are 2/3 adult snails. I’m devastated after getting so close to completing my vision with this beautiful tank and the adorable creatures I had grown so fond of. It’s good to keep pests off your plants to avoid contaminating peoples tanks with hitchhikers, but I’d rather have hitchhikers than mass casualties and emergency detoxing to do. If you use pesticides on your plants that can kill aquarium animals, keep it minimal and make very clear in your instructions that we should quarantine the plants and do lots of water changes before doing a small test with one cutting into the aquarium. I’ll have to start over now with my spirits shot down.

Fantastic aquarium plant supplier with even better customer support. When ordering plants online, I was surprised to receive them in just two days, as the delivery date was two to three weeks out. My tenant picked it up with her delivery, which made me believe it was not delivered. However, after contacting their customer service, they provided a photo that allowed me to check on my end. The plant was still in excellent condition and has become a welcome addition to my tank. I will definitely order from them again for my aquarium plant needs.

Im a little disappointed. The first purchase for the same item was awesome and came with roots. This next one has zero roots and looks like its not as green. Hope it can recover.
