Imagine you’ll be released from a First Order drop ship on a remote planet like Jakku, Crait or Takodana and your task is to chargrill some pesky locals and the occasional resistance fighter - that is the job of this fairly cool First Order Flametrooper figure.I love my troopers and interesting variants in particular. However he/she only looks only a little different from the Force Awakens flametrooper figure, with slightly different posed legs and this one having the ability to actually hold the long barrelled flamethrower with both hands. The flamethrower connects through a detachable hose to his backpack canister which requires a little fiddling. The trooper itself however remains what you would expect from a basic line figure; it comes with limited 6-point articulation and limited paint detail, though not much is required for a stormtrooper. Moreover this flamethrower-trooper is pre-posed again so you won’t be able to line it up properly for a stormtrooper squadron inspection, and it looks rather odd with holding the flamethrower. The included Force Link 1.0 functionality is as disappointing as ever. My children seem to be able to wiggle out phrases and sounds effects with much ease, but I’m rarely successful. Anyway this guy screams 5 different sentences; “What are my orders?", "Sir! Resistance fighters!", "Call in the air strike!", "Burn it down!" & "Ow! Ah!"
