The Crown - Season 1 & 2 [Blu-ray] [2018]

I got tired of having to use the volume control - speech was too quiet and gabbled - and background effects and music far too loud. Choice of sequences very odd. Where was the Coronation? - and who wants to see horses mating? I know it is impossible to get true "lookalikes" - but having lived through the war, I just couldn't recognise any resemblances to the King, the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, Churchill and many other famous characters either by appearance or manner. Many parts of the dialogue scarcely believable!

Bought this as a present, and really wasn't looking forward to having to watch this. But I'm really enjoying this series. The acting is fantastic, and so far there has been no Witchell-esque forelock-tugging. Great dialogue. Good subtitling. And the episodes are pacey and interesting.

If this is a true reflection on the history of the British monarchy, how were we not taken over by Nazis and other idiots. For me, the only one who came out of this, with any credibility, was the Queen. No doubt the production was enhanced to add drama to events, but how much of it is accurate? I guess we will never know.

Really enjoyed this and cannot wait for the next series good actors telling a story we all think we know an insight into the royal family even though it told some shocking events I am sure it was not all

After watching this you feel as if you actually know the Queen & Prince Philip personally lol! I am not a fan of the Monarchy but i have to admit that this was compelling to watch and i have nice bought two box sets as gifts and they love it too.

These two seasons of The Crown are Tv/film production at its best - superb casting and acting, brilliant scriptwriting and camera work, and excellent accurate period details and background music. Everyone who worked on this did a fantastic job. It is the sort of totally class drama series that began in earnest with such as Band of Brothers, although the 1980s’ North and South was also superbly done. Even if you’re not particularly a fan of the monarchy, The Crown is so well done that it’s just engrossing viewing period.

This was indeed a very good series with a good storyline throughout. The acting was exceptional with special emphasis on those who played the Queen, Lascelles, & Churchill. Several scenes were I thought, too over-bearing and played out but otherwise it would be a series that I would certainly watch again & recommend.
