Wilcox All-Pro 401-12 12" All-Pro Heavy Duty Digging Hoe

Thought about welding one out of mild steel... Usually hate all the made in China garbage today. But Woah, this tool is BEEFY. Like welded the way I would and just hefty and a lifetime tool.

Exactly as described, no disappointment whatsoever. Although if I had to say (the only reason for 4 Stars), a more rounded hand grip would be an improvement.

It's built like a tank and really works. I have used it for everything from digging in hard rocky soils and clays to leveling off yards of compost in my trailer. Sure a small tool like this was not ideal for that application but its what I had and beat using my hands. Some reviewers have commented on the shorter length, but I think any longer would start to get ungainly for a one handed operation. Once again Wilcox come through with another Made in the USA top notch product.

I wish the handle was longer for gaining leverage on tough roots. I also wish it was a lot sharper. It's a strong, solid tool that should ladt forever. I would be my new go to, if these chages were made.

I hoped this would suit my needs, It is a thing that's hard to photograph. It''s big, heavy, BUILT TO LAST a lifetime! This IS ACTUALLY a repacement for a rock pick. The front end is pointed to break almost anything, the rear has a perfect scoop to extract the loose material. I use this more than most tools. BUY IT, you'll like it. I AM HARD TO PLEASE...I opened the pachage, pulled it out, A BIG SMILE as I looked it over. You have my word on this tool!

This steel digging tool is a must for a metal detecting diehard. It is very sturdy and well built. I bring it with me in my go along bag of metal detecting stuff everytime I go out hunting around. actually considering buying one for my friend who also metal detects as well.Tx,Rich

After purchasing the 10" and 14" digging trowels for metal detecting and finding them to be amazing in construction and quality, this tool is a huge disappointment.The difference in quality with my other 2 trowels is painfully obvious.The amazing thick stainless steel of my 2 trowels contrasts with the muchthinner simulated stainless steel that was used with this digger. It looks likegalvanized paint on steel or electroplated galvanized steel at best. The weld that holdsthe handle to the digging head is very poor and has 2 large pinholes that make ita failed weld bead. Even the leather wrist strap is half the thickness and is madeof inferior leather than the first 2 tools I bought on Amazon only a few weeks earlier.At this point am not sure if this is a poorly made Wilcox product, or a fake imitation;the striking inferiority of this tool in comparison to the others I bought is that obvious.The only reason I am keeping it is because it was on sale for 19.00. The regular pricewas listed at about 51.00cdn...... which would have been a true rip-off for a low quality toollike this. If this tool would be offered with the same high quality as the other Wilcox toolsI have used, it would be in high demand. Hopefully Wilcox Tools will realize this and changethis poor quality tool with a better quailty one. Not recommended.
