Great leash and has stopped my dog from trying to chew leash! The links are really nice—not the typical basic links you find on a choker chain, but more sophisticated. They're not too big either so it doesn't look like you're trying to be a badass. Took one walk to get used to the difference of using a chain instead of a nylon style leash. I can wrap it around my hand to shorten with no issues. I will say that my dog is a great walker so I'm not dealing with any pulling issues, etc that might create pain points on hand if this is wrapped around. The leash is a little less than half an inch thick so not aggressive looking and despite what one reviewer stated—whom I suspect is using their review to promote an agenda rather than leave an authentic review—this leash is not 'heavy' and abusive for the dog. It does have some weight to it but I find it to reaffirm the physical connection between me and my dog as both of us can feel that shared weight. One thing I'd like improved is the gauge of the nylon for the handle. The handle is padded and super comfortable (about 3.4" wide) but the nylon that wraps around the O-ring that connects to the chain is kind of thin and I wonder if it will wear over time. I have no idea it will wear at all but it's one minor thing I noticed. Great product!

Great leash for large and smaller dogs and will break over time if you use with a giant breed. I bought this for my puppy Great Dane because he could not chew through it. As he grew naturally he got stronger and at 9 months this morning he saw a turkey while on our morning walk and gave chase. Granted Bosco put this leash to the test at times and not surprised it lasted as long as it did and why I gave it a overall good rating. For large dogs like labs and smaller dogs this is a great leash. If you have a giant breed dog just know it will break in time. Mine lasted 4 months.

Total weight is just under a pound which is noticeably heavy for a 6 foot leash including handle. If your dog is big enough to need this heavy a leash the weight should not be a big deal. If you dog is below 50 -60 lbs, you might want something lighter. The handstrap may be leather lined but the outside is nylon. No issue there because the nylon will hold up better than leather. The weakest spots don't appear to be the chain itself. The links actually look stronger than the end rings at the handhold and snap. If it were to break, that is were I would expect it, but they still seem strong enough. The star I took off was because of quality control. Note the picture. The ring at the handhold was not put through the last link of the chain. That is where they missed 5 stars.

I was the dog mom who wanted only positive reinforcement and didn’t want a chain leash but after going 4 - this 60 lb, 6 month old terror got a chain leash! We just had our first walk on it and what a difference. He doesn’t get the satisfaction from biting the chain so he tried once and stopped. He didn’t pull as much and I think he felt more confident because I was more confident. I’m not rating on stretch because it’s a chain, it doesn’t stretch! He’s now nice and warn out and I am not dreading our next walk.

My 65 lb dog pulled at a squirrel and the link holding the clasp opened up (see photos) I have only had this leash since the end of November 2024 and we didn’t use this one very often. It is extremely dangerous. She could’ve taken off into traffic or gotten into a fight. I think this is a manufacturing flaw. I do not, in anyway, recommend you purchase this leash. These are how tragic accidents happen. On the pro side, the chain is very attractive Cuban style and the hand loop is a nice leather type material and very cushioned, however, this design or manufacturing flaw can cause a terrible situation.

I am in love with this leash. My pitty is 60lbs and it is so much easier to walk him now. No more embarrassing biting leash. Haha i won this round poochie. I dont mind him wanting to play but people are scared of pitts. When we wont be around no one ill use other leash. The slight weight on leash also helps with leading.
