Lightweight and small for a swiss knife.
My recruit Knife is by far better than any other pocket knife in the world. I dont care what people say, i have yet to see a Swiss army knife break(With normal use) and i have had numerous ones on my person over the years, all models seem to have that Good old versatile Pen blade. Its razor sharp, can be honed easily and keeps an edge. All of these factors are very important for a pocket knife. I have cut string, Opened both Food wrappings and packages, Mail, Cleaned my nails and on one account whittled a stick. Had mine for a couple months, Must say its still pretty well, considering i bought it Used. Aint no tellin' what Hell Its been through due to the previous owner, but it was put to good use obviously. I opened can food at thanksgiving with it due to my parents didnt have a can opener in their house and instead of buying one and wasting money, i told them i already had one. Boy I was right, I tore open 13 cans in less than 5 minutes. Rinsed off my Can opener, Closed the knife and dug in to some turkey and fixins'. My aunt had a PC problem, and i being a Non-PC genius, Dissassembled and reassembeled it with my Recruit knife. Handy? You better believe it. Only tool i dont use is the Cap lifter, or bottle opener, However you refer to it. I dont drink, so i dont need it. Pretty handy little knife and i am glad i own one. Get ya one, you will love it, simply for the fact they are so handy and you really Cant tell its even in your pocket, i ought to know all about that since i get "Pocket Claustorphobia" Meaning you dont like to carry alot of stuff in your pockets and you definately dont like Bulk. The Recruit knife is not tiny, Its about the same size of a Standard Swiss, but about 1/4 inch shorter, and its not too thin either. You got 4 working pieces of swiss steel and a toothpick and tweezers. Thats a good deal. Seriously, who needs all them fancy gadgets, when you can have them all easy with a compact pocket knife. Everyday carry, its perfect. For Backwoods Hikes and Adventures, Its nice, For Dressing a deer, YOU BET! For batoning with a stick? Nope. Sawing? Chopping? Who the hell would do that to a knife anyway?

I'm in love
My first SAK was the rangergrip model with corkscrew and woodsaw (other tools too but that's the distinction for the model I have). I absolutely loved it but found it wasn't practical as an edc with the exception of it ALWAYS coming outdoors with me. I decided to get a swiss champ and a recruit for more every day use. My recruit is becoming the workhorse for every task imaginable to which it is suited...I find myself becoming creative just to use it. The swiss champ lives on my belt in a cheap sheath, that came with a multitool I was gifted but was too low quality to be of much use, for everything (the swiss champ) I can't do around the house with the recruit, which lives in my pocket and admitably there isn't much that the recruit can't do...but it is very handy having two tools for pretty much every mudane random encounter that a tool is needed or makes things easier. Anxiety already ensues if I don't feel the weight of my recruit in my pocket. Extremely satisfied customer and WILL be buying again when I wear this one out which I'm convinced I will as I use it for EVERYTHING. I'm sold...nothing but victorinox for me when it comes to this type of product. My rangergrip, recruit, and swiss champ are essentially all I will ever need for edc small nonspecific tasks and I find myself excited to reach for them. Thickness, weight, size are all perfect for your edc workhorse and is a cheap product that DOES NOT feel cheap but rather feels like a quality tool. 5 out of 5 and would give 10 out of 10 if I could

Perfect Stocking Stuffer
I received one of these as a graduation gift, close to 50 years ago, and it has become a standard stocking stuffer for my kids and grandkids at Christmas. The perfect entry level tool for a youngster to learn about self-sufficiency. It does not take long for them to realize they can open cans, bottles, boxes, etc...without having to ask for assistance. The next evolution would be a full featured multi-tool, but the basic Swiss Army Knife retains its usefulness for any age. If taken care of, they will last a lifetime.

The perfect Pa-paw knife!
The perfect “Pa-paw” knife. I’ve carried all sorts of pocket, clip, knives. This knife reminds me of something my Pa-paw (grandfather) carried. What makes it perfect, is….These blades are paper cutting sharp. Right out of the package. I keep the large blade sharp for cutting things, like rope. and I use the smaller blade for opening boxes and for anything else that can abuse your knife blade. I keep it sharp. Also, the two separate screwdriver blades accommodate both large and small Phillips and standard heads. The bottle opener comes in handy. Every once in a while I get to use the can opener. The wire strippers turned out to be a bonus. (Yes, I’ve had to use it.) Now, I hope you can understand what makes this knife the perfect pocket carry knife. Carry & Enjoy!

Victorinox... Buen producto y recomendada su compra totalmente.

A great little knife which slips into my pocket easily and has all the tools I need for daily tasks. The good thing about victorinox is that the range is so wide you can always find a knife that incorporates the tools you are likely to use and the quality is great.
