•• Comparable Products I've Used ••I used to have a j/fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar, which is one of Amazon's best sellers, and it worked great for years. It stuck really well, but it had a couple of issues. First, it doesn't have a variety of grip locations; the black handhold is where the black handhold is. It's a one size-fits all approach. Secondly, it fit TIGHTLY against the mounting frame. It has rubber caps on either side to prevent damage (in theory). In my first apartment, it left massive black circles that were extremely hard to clean off. I scrubbed those suckers forever, and luckily my landlord let it slide. Then, in the basement suite I moved to, it actually crunched into the wall. I still used it like that, knowing that one day I'd have to repair the damage. A few years later, I moved again, and I was determined to bring it with me. This time, the rubber cap fell out because the adhesive affixing it to the bar had finally worn away. I lost it in the move. Finally, I decided, it was time for something a little less... brutal.•• What I Like ••I really love the ProSource. It handles my weight effortlessly (145lbs) and has a variety of gripping points. I particularly enjoy the wide U-grips for deep, upper pec activation. The point is, there's a grip for anything. I even toss a sheet over it to grip for vertical rows. It's exceptionally diverse. The instructions are mildly unintuitive, but they're easy to figure out. Basically, I recommend looking at the instructions and just deciding on the order that makes sense. As long as you're not snapping the wrong pieces together, you'll get it done without issue. It took me about 5-10 minutes to put together. No biggy. It sits on my new door frame like a champ.•• What I Dislike ••As other reviewers have stated, the heads of the screws that sit on top of your door frame are slightly pushed out. This means they'll press into the wall when you're hanging your weight. That is a silly design flaw indeed, but it's SUPER EASY to FIX. All you have to do is place something thick enough behind the screws. I'll show you what I mean in the pictures at the bottom of the review. I literally took the box the ProSource came in, sliced it up into little squares, and placed them behind the screws. I didn't have to purchase any additional stuff to do it... no tape, no nothing, and again, it took me around 2 minutes to concoct. Don't let that stop you from buying this thing. If you have a standard door frame it'll fit on, you're going to be very happy with it.•• Conclusion ••If I had to buy it again, I would. I don't see any true cons with this thing. The build quality is great and easily rivals the J/Fit I had previously. Setting it up and installing it is easy. And if you take 2 minutes to cut up some cardboard, you won't have screw-head-holes above your beautiful door frame. If you want more protection, pad the screws with some fat tape before placing the cardboard (or whatever). You could even use socks or small towels instead of cardboard.Happy working out, broseph or brodette.05/08/2017 Update: Been using it for a few months now. Still thrilled. The cardboard hasn't shifted one bit.01/05/2018 Update: We're officially in the new year! Cardboard hasn't shifted. I have zero complaints.08/12/2019 Update: No changes. No complaints. One addition! I recently hung rings over the bar. It holds perfectly solid. Been using them for a few months now. I still love and appreciate the versatility of this door-bar. Rings are "Femor gym rings" from Amazon. I've also reviewed them.
