Why are common, British grown, broad beans so expensive? They taste good but in terms of value for money very expensive for a bag of roasted broad beans

Horrible stale broken fava beans
Arrived today and the pack was folded over taped up, opened it, although it’s still within the expiry date, but tasted stale. It looks like the package must be broken at some stage, it went stale. Maybe that’s why it was taped up with extra tape. As tasted disgusting, never returned food item, don’t know the rules on food item returns. Will put it in the rubbish bin.
