Non stick coating did not last upto the brand name
I bought this expensive hawkins non stick tawa with lot of hope after trying out low cost brands and expensive brand like prestige. None of them had lasted more than a year. I wanted a tawa which would last for atleast 2-3 years, I went for hawkins futura. The product was indeed well built and sturdy. I took a lot of care such as to use it in medium-low flame, cool down before washing, only using wooden spatula, using a soft sponge to clean etc. My use was very minimal, just twice a week. However the tawa gave up and the coating started peeling is just over 1 year of use. Tried to claim warranty for it, the process was burdening as I had to make multiple trips to a specific shop in the city, it was not worth the money, time and energy. Finally dumped it and disposed off. Now I am back to low cost brands under Rs 400, I am pretty much ok if it lasts upt 6 months, I would buy a new one every 6 months rather than expensive products like this.

Trustworthy and healthy
I am writing this review after holding the product for 3 years. Yes, I did not try for almost 3 years since when I tried making dosas, they stuck. Then I read all reviews recently, and became aware of how to use it. This is the only tawa you will ever need for any kind of dosas, parathas, uttapams and tawa fried recipes.Steps for making dosa:1. Heat tawa till very hot (without any oil), till you can feel the hotness of you hold your palm few inches above tawa.2. Smear oil evenly.3. Simmer to low heat.4. Pour dosa batter and cook as usual, over low flame only. Drizzle few drops of oil or ghee on each dosa you make, everytime.

Truly an asset
7 stars actually. This tawa is truly amazing with a nice and extra smooth flat surface, a raised edge for safe cooking and of course a broad induction base. I don't know why Hawkins didn't think about making the handle more comfortable and strong but it's okay. Finally got the best tawa of our life. Many thanks to Hawkins. And last but not the least, Amazon continues to amaze with great prompt service.

Probably the best Tawa available in the market
This is probably the best tawa available. It is heavier than other tawas available, hence takes time to heat up but that is good as the heat is evenly distributed on whole of the surface.Rotis and parathas comes out excellent, even dosas are great. Dosa do not stick to tawa's surface. The quality of nonstick coating looks great. I hope it will last long.Edit :After 8 months of usage :1. Coating started coming out after 6 months2. Now after 8 months coating is almost completely gone. The bad part is if we use it the black coating tends to stick to the parathas and chillas.Reducing the rating to 3 stars

Good For Chapatis, Not for Dosas
1. Though paratha cook evenly, the oil sticks to tawa's surface and it is very difficult to clean.2. The tawa does not have edges, so there is always a danger of paratha or roti falling off while turning.3. You cannot make dosa. It simply sticks.4. It is heavy, takes time to heat. This is good for heating evenly at all points.5. The quality of coating looks sturdy.

Very good
This Tava is very good. It's coating is best. It's 26 cm in size and has 4.8mm thickness which makes it very sturdy. Kindly note that use non stick Tava for specific use only and not for making all types of food. This increase life. E.g if purchased for making roti then use it for that only.

Disappointing
I purchased this last July. I had the exact same pan in the past which had lasted me for over 3 years. I had to leave that when we moved countries, that’s why I was so excited to get the same here in the UK. But this one was thoroughly disappointing. I have used it consistently, almost every day, to make chapatis, dosas and pancakes. This worked really well up until 6 months, after which the coating started coming off. I never hear it beyond medium high flame and have taken great care to hand wash it only without using any abrasive materials. All that effort in vain when today I finally got frustrated when my dosa stuck it like hot glue and I chucked it in the bin. Looking at the price, I should have just purchased a regular griddle pan off Tesco’s rather than staying loyal to the brand.

NOT induction
Despite several reviews saying works on induction hobs... IT DOES NOT (see answer to 3rd question which I missed when buying this product). Sadly it's nothing more than a nicely finished doorstop in our house.

Caution: Isn't truly flat.
Packaging1. The product came in a cardboard box and was properly secured. No room for banging around and such.2. Came with a plastic scouring thing which was good and a wooden spatula that should go straight the trash.3. Instructions were included. My usecase:1. I'm not using the tava on extremely high heat as required in making rotis.2. I mainly use it to reheat and toast storebought breads.3. Occasionally use it to make dosas. The product1. It's been about 3 months since purchase with regular use and the nonstick hasn't worn out yet.2. The enameled bottom is very easy to clean.3. The "wire" type handles are somtimes a problem, they can get hot if you leave the tava empty are are a bit tricky to grip but the upside is they're easy to hang.4. The problem of burning in food does exist like with any tava but the plastic scouring thing included does a good job at removing the buildup without scratching the surface.5. Being thick metal, it does take a while to heat up but sustains a steady heat very nicely, even on an electric stove.6. The anglded edges may be a problem for some but isn't for me.7. The weight makes it very hard to flip things. Unless you curl cast irons on a regular basis, forget it.8. It's supposed to be flat but is isn't really. It's more flat-ish. You can spin the tava while resting it on a glass stovetop. It's usable but can be annoying.Final Rating: 3-3.5/5A good product. A bit unwieldy but that comes with the territory. My only real problem is it not being truly flat. That's the only dealbreaker to watchout for. I'd give it a 5/5 if it wasn't for this.
