A very long and detailed review.
This was my first time using henna to dye my hair, and I’m VERY impressed! I’m posting progress pictures since I didn’t see many reviews from people who started with bleached hair.Previous to using this henna, I had done a couple rounds of DIY bleach, a few temporary color masks in pink and coral, a salon visit to correct color to medium brown, and then box dye (blonde 8A) to correct the brass after the salon visit effects wore off. My hair has been through some sh*t these last few months. 😅The picture labeled “before” was how my hair looked immediately before putting on the henna. My technique was this:1. Mixed 1/2 bag of henna powder with hot (tea temperature) water and COCONUT CREAM in a glass bowl.2. Aimed for a viscosity similar to box dye.2. Let the henna sit in the bowl for an hour to develop.3. Funneled the henna into a hair dye applicator bottle. (Highly recommend. You can use any clean squeeze bottle. That ketchup is probably going bad anyway.)4. Wet my hair for easier application.5. Fully coated my hair, moving in sections, until it looked like I was wearing a henna paste helmet.6. Covered my hair with a grocery bag and then a beanie.7. Left the henna on for about 3 hours.8. Washed the henna out (no shampoo) and conditioned.9. I used the exact same process a week later for the second round of dying to get a darker color.Perhaps because I’m experienced with dying my own hair, I didn’t find the process to be particularly difficult or messy. It was pretty similar to using box dye, the developing time was just longer. And I personally really liked the natural scent of the henna. I love to hike so grassy smells make me happy.I didn’t measure anything. I just put half of one of the bags (box comes with two bags) in a bowl and then slowly added water and coconut cream in small amounts until I got a texture I thought would work well. I’m not sure what effect the coconut cream had in regard to the final color since I used it on both rounds. But it made for a nice spreadable texture and undoubtedly helped with dryness. My hair was already pretty dry with all that bleaching, but it didn’t seem more dry after the henna.Hmm, what else? I used gloves, obviously. And I put coconut oil around my hairline, on my ears, and on the back of my neck. I wore black clothes and covered my white bathroom counter with a dark towel. I’m not sure why people think something should stain their hair permanently but not stain anything else. That’s not very logical.I’m beyond pleased with the results. It’s been a couple weeks, and the color still looks great. If I do a third and fourth round, I’ll update with additional pictures. Happy hair dying!!

My favorite hair coloring product
Less damaging to my hair than regular hair dye (although regular hair dye is quicker); this is pretty much the only way I color my hair anymore. The last time I bought a box, I dyed my hair regularly for about 4-5 months with it, and then the color stayed with me for about a year. A quick hair mask or leave in conditioner after use, and I don't notice any real damage to my hair from this product. Love it.

Worked well!
I bought the Copper Red color, and it dyed my hair coppery red, quite successfully. When I was a kid my hair was fairly bright red, but has since faded to a dark blond with bright blond tips bleached by the sun, and just a hint of ginger in the sunlight. This was the first time I have ever dyed my hair.I mixed the henna with hot water according to the instructions and I let it rest for 5 hours. I noticed the dye pooling on top of the mixture after about an hour. I applied it to my hair and I put on a couple disposable shower caps and then wrapped my head with a towel. I let it sit in my hair for only an hour and a half, because I didn't want it to go too dark and I thought I can always do more, but I can't undo it. I then rinsed it out in the shower. It took what felt like forever for the water to run clear, but the paste itself wasn't difficult to wash out of my hair.It was late at night by this time, so I went to sleep and waited to see the results in the morning when my hair had dried. It was bright orange! Everywhere online said not to panic, so I did my best not to. It wasn't like a hideous color or anything, but definitely orange. I gave it some time, and by the next morning it was still quite bright, but more of a copper tone than orange. It has since settled into a bright copper color that is saturated, but not artificial looking after about 3 days. I have included photos of before the henna, 12 hours after application, and 65 hours after application.I may go over it again later on to push it a little more toward a red than a copper, but for now I'm going to enjoy it the way it is, I quite like it. My natural hair color is quite golden-blond where the sun has bleached it, and I think that golden undertone contributes to the coppery hue. It looks more red near the top of my head where the hair is darker. I have a decent crop of grey hairs, and the henna covered them completely. They are now a super bright shiny copper color that gives dimension to my hair, rather than desaturating it like the grey did.Overall it was pretty easy. I did the actual application in my bathtub; I just bent my head over the henna bowl and let my hair hang down over it and slathered the paste on from roots to tip. My hair is waist length, and I used one of the packets that came in the box to do my whole head. I probably could have even gotten by with less than that, but I wanted to ensure good coverage, especially since I am a novice at hair dyeing. It definitely has an earthy smell, but I don't find it offensive. It did color my tub where I dripped it on the floor of the bathtub, but I let some water with bleach rest in the tub the next day and it bleached all the color away and the tub is as good as new again.I've never used henna before, so I don't have any real comparison, but after my first dye-job I'm well pleased with this product; it did what it was supposed to do.

Great quality henna
One of the best out there! Colors hair in nice copper color, stays on long and don’t damage hair. Great quality henna. I highly recommend it to all red heads to enhance the color! Oh, and it works great to color grey hair too, I see some on me now, and this henna hides them really well!

Gorgeous color!
This was my first time using henna hair dye, and I loved it! After watching several videos, I steeped the henna powder with chamomile tea and left it in for a good portion of the day. The color is beautiful and my hair feels healthier. I will definitely be ordering this product again once my hair grows out!
