Fantastic Product In Every Respect (Look, Feel, & Build), But Size (Really Small)
This is a very well-designed, beautiful, and comfortable thermal fleece balaclava/hood that suffers from one major problem - sizing. It's so small that it's enough to lose a 5-star rating. So small that it's not so much "one size fits all"; rather, it's S/M (small/medium) at best.We bought two (blue/gray and black/black). The price was great ($9.35 Amazon "lightning deal"), but even the regular price $11.99/$12.99 is quite reasonable. The material is really soft and the colors pop. Quality of manufacture was first-rate. The left side draw string operates the face opening and the right side draw string operates the nose cover. Neat feature. All in all, a really nice item. But........It's really small. I guess someone needing a "size large" could wear it if you like a real tight fit. I bought this item for my wife (who wears a medium-sized hat) and she finds it almost too snug a fit.Purjoy, if you're reading this, think about sizing! You're losing a chunk of market. I would keep one for me, but it wouldn't come close to comfortably fitting.Great product (5 stars), but too small (one star penalty). 4 stars.

Great!
This fit is great. It’s warm and gives excellent coverage through the neck area. It is one size fits all. I have a big head(so I’ve been told), and as you can see it fits pretty great.

Inexpensive, and warm, but needs a little more R&D
I bought this with the intent to use it for winter hiking/photography. Its very thick and warm and would be great for a quick throw on item for cold weather. While trying to incorporate it into my gear, I noted several things:-one of the drawstrings was not attached, and pretty pulled out of the hood. I just removed the rest of them.- While the neck gaiter is huge, the hood itself is tiny. There is no way you could wear a beanie and this at the same time. The neck portion of it is also kind of bulky and you cant tuck the material in well because they do not include a taper for the chin.-Its HEAVY fleece- not usable for hiking or exertion because it does not ventilate enough. Unless you are dealing with extreme cold or run cold physically, this will be too thick.-This would likely be well suited for skiing or snowboarding, since the hood is small and wont be caught in the wind as easily.-Id recommend to the manufacturer- sew the neck portion to accommodate for tucking under the chin, and making it fit to the face better, and increase the hood just a little bit, so that you can wear a beanie or have thick/long hair under it.

A must have
I work at an airport in Indiana. As you can I imagine it is super cold in winter and the winds oh my. It is an airport so nothing blocking those winds. We all survive my dressing in layers and not just a few. On average we are wearing 5 layers minimum. This hat is the best combo the built in neck gator protects my nose and mouth. So that it does not hurt to breath. The hoodie in it keeps the wind out my face. Nothing worse then those super cold nights like we just had with the artic polar. I was working in -25 and the winds make you tear up the cold made those watery eyes freeze yes my eyelashes and all froze like ice cycles. I got this in put it on Ian’s it was like 30 degrees warmer and it stayed in place . Thing about layers is that is not often happen I would recommend this to anyone works outdoors get one. Save yourself

So much worth!
I really like the longer neck part as it stays under my layers and doesn't pop out and it just covers more also which is obviously nice. It fits really well, very soft and will keep me very warm in my daily commuting to work and back by foot or bicycle rides. The other thing I really like is that the top hood part is more round than triangle or "mountain" shape. I just think it looks a lot better. Definitely worth in terms of functionality and use, and looks!Update: I have two balaclavas. This one, and a lighter one. I use both for winter cycling, commuting to work and back. It's about 3.5 miles there and 3.5 miles back, 4 miles there/back if I decide to take the more 'flat' route. This balaclava is heavier and I love it. It is perfect for temperatures in the single digits and even below freezing temperatures with windchill. I have used this in -4 degree Fahrenheit weather, with windchill putting it down to -14, and this was an absolute lifesaver. If you plan on cycling in single digit temperatures, and even in the negatives, get this. Makes the ride so much more enjoyable.

Glad I didn't pay more for cashmere (which the wind ...
I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather. I got tired of trying to use something that would block strong winds here in Tulsa when the temperatures drop into the teens. This really works. Glad I didn't pay more for cashmere (which the wind whips through). I wanted something that wouldn't tempt me to run back into the house without exercising my dog sufficiently. Glad I got it.

It's pretty great!
Awesome head covering and face cover. Helps keep my asthma under control by protecting me from breathing in the freezing air. I can also adjust how tight it is on my face and head so it's not too hot or too tight.

Perfect for being outdoors in cold winters
It’s a hat, scarf, earmuffs, and neck gator all in one! Plus, it’s purple, so it matches my purple winter coat. It’s nice and long so it tucks into my collar and snow doesn’t get into my coat. I like how it’s adjustable for both the hat and the face part, although the cords to adjust that do stick out. That doesn’t really bother me because this was mainly purchased to keep me warm. I do find that when I crane my neck down, the back of it pops out of my collar, letting some cold air in.I do like the ability to lower and raise the face mask part to my face, depending on the weather. It’s perfect how it covers my nose so I don’ have to breath in dry, zero degree air and my lips and face don’t freeze. It also provides perfect cover for my ears, which are very sensitive to the cold. Usually, I have to wear a think hat AND a pair of earmuffs on top of it, but this thing does the job. It keeps me nice and warm.Would highly recommend for all those cold faces out there!
