Puccini - Il Trittico: Opera Vocal Score Series

Overall, I'm very pleased with what I got, especially for the price at which I bought it. I basically got three operas for the price I would normally pay for one. This is overall a good edition, with both the original Italian and and the English translation above it. There is a short synopsis before each opera. Occasionally the print looks a little splotchy, and there are a few spots where the syllables don't line up with the notes to which they correspond. Also, the English "translation" is very loose, but serves its purpose. Again though, overall I'm pleased and none of the imperfections get in the way of performance.

A great buy- contains Il Tabarro, Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica, Italian with English translations. The music is pretty clear and easy to read. Only serious qualm is that some of the English text looks very messy- it seems to be put in with typewriter above the Italian with a different and strange font. It would be a bit difficult to read- however, I really only need the Italian, so it's not a big problem! In any case, I would still recommend this to anyone needing more than one of these operas, and I am very pleased!

I haven't delved into this enough yet to know how good this is in terms of accuracy and any particulars in the Italian. What I would say though is that I'm not thrilled that the English is the forefront language with the Italian italicized underneath (although italicized Italian sounds appropriate, it's not). As an opera singer I would prefer more writing room in the margins over an indirect translation.

I am extremely pleased with this purchase, specifically its price. At rehearsal I discovered that my castmates who purchased this score elsewhere spent from $5 to $10 more (excluding shipping and taxes). My score shipped within one week, and that with me printing out the order form and mailing payment to Amazon.This is the exact score that my company required and, as in the past, I will continue to make Amazon my first source for all scores.

It's an excellent single edition for Il Trittico. The text, as with many Ricordi editions, is not terribly easy to read (in italics). But it's nice to have all 3 acts in one book!

Allora...qua ci si potrebbe arrabbiare...l'edizione è ricordi e fin qui tutto va bene, l'impaginazione è buona e la stampa pulita, in più sono tre opere in un unico tomo...il trittico che ogni collezionista vorrebbe...mi ritrovo a mettere una stella non solo perché c'è la linea vocale in inglese(cosa estremamente brutta da vedere) ma perché TUTTO IL TESTO È IN INGLESE CON LA TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO. Assutamente imperdonabile un tale sfregio sul manoscritto di un opera italiana. Per una persona che usa l'articolo per studiare risulta praticamente inutile. Amazon impeccabile.

For pianists and vocalists looking to buy the definitive Trittico score that is most often used in productions. Note that when going to bind this with coils that your copy center will probably have to copy the entire book and bind the copy as the spine is too close to the music to allow for coils without obstruction.

歌詞は英語とイタリア語が併記されていますが、英語の方がメインになってます。さすがに三演目の合冊は厚く、持ち運びに便利とはいいがたいですね。それぞれの演目ごとの楽譜もRicordiから出ていますので、そちらを求めることを奨めます。
