Is it cuttable or connectable, will it damage the lights if i cut the end of the leds?

It is not cuttable or connectable. Please do not cut any one of the LEDs cause it will damage all the string lights, and result in Not-working. Beware of that.

Can you leave it up/ on all year?

I have had these on my house for 4 years straight. I’m in eastern Pennsylvania so weather is all 4 seasons. If the thin insulation on the copper wire wears, it causes a short and the lights don’t work. I fixed that by wrapping electrical tape around the nail that the copper wire is fixed to. So I have a nail every 6 feet and wrap the copper wire around once. Whole house is outlined. Tons of comments due to their elegance

How do you set the timer?

Dear Customer, to set a timer, just turn on the lights and press the "timer" button on the remote, and then you will see the lights blink in an instant, which means the timer is already set, then the lights will be light on for 6 hours, and light off for 18 hours, then 6 hours on,18 hours off()... Maybe there is a few minutes deviation after several days using, but this is normal, just need to set it again. Hope this helps!

Can this be used on a 6ft black Christmas tree

You may have to use more than one strand for it to look good on a 6 foot Christmas Tree, but I don't see why you couldn't use them on a Christmas Tree. Just remember to keep the battery pack where you can reach it, the batteries will have to be changed every few days depending on how long the lights run.
