OK
My daughter (6 yrs old) is a nut when it comes to the "As seen on TV toys", and few of them always seem to make her birthday or Christmas wish list. Pillow Pets, Tummy Stuffers, Dream Lights, you name it. This Christmas the Pop Out Pet Unicorn was towards the top of her Santa list. Lets just say that my expectations for this type of merchandise are pretty low so I wasn't expecting much. When I received my order, I was surprised that it was small, I figured it would be bigger. Initial visual of the quality is as to be expected for this type of item. In it's function I imagine it cannot be to robust or you wouldn't be able to flip it inside out. When my daughter opened the present she was excited. I think mainly that she got what she had asked for, but I think she played with it for all of a minute. Now to be fair she received several other gifts, but now 4 days later I have not seen her return to the Pop Out Pet at all, while she has played with other gifts on multiple occasions, including several her younger sister (3 yrs old) received. For example Stuffed Paw Patrol characters have received a lot of attention. I think mainly because they are established characters and lend to role play. From my messing with it, the reviewers who point out the issues with the velcro seam are spot on. Cute idea, just didn't capture my kid's attention.Edit: She has revisited this toy and has played with it a bit.

Good Buy
Overall, this was a good buy because it was available and there was a variety to choose from. This was a gift for my niece and she absolutely loved it! It came on time and the packaging was great, I was glad they put it inside a plastic sealed bag inside the amazon box. My only 2 complaints are that it appeared much bigger on the site and in the pictures but was much smaller than expected but the bigger thing that bothered me is that it did have a couple cosmetic things that I wouldn't have expected. The unicorn had a very tiny tuft of purple hair as opposed to the big poof it looked like as advertised and on the face and a few other places it had little red threads sticking out.

Worthless back seam
I have twin daughters that are nearly 5. Two weeks before Christmas, they start going on an on about how Santa needs to bring them a pop out pet. This is the first i had heard of them. Perhaps a friend at pre-school presented the idea, possible they caught a tv commercial. Either way, they weren't going to drop it. Hey, $20 on prime - I pulled the trigger, wrapped them and waited for Christmas morning. They weren't as excited as I had hoped, no big deal, lets open them up and play. We looked at the three critters, picked one and stuffed the other two into the innards. The back seam is TERRIBLE, this doesn't hold together with the grip of 3M velcro, but rather a 3M post it. Sorry Pop-out pets, try again. The animals are fairly cute, the plush material is soft, but it will take either a needle and thread or staples to hold that back seam shut.5 minutes in, my girls opened another plush. A pair of hedgehogs that were free at a local hardware chain on Black Friday. They have yet to put them down, and hold them tightly all night long.I managed to doge a bullet and give my girls a great Christmas, but I wish I would have saved the $40 for something else.If you can divert your child's love and affection from this terrible toy they saw on TV - do your best, your money is better spent elsewhere.

Really cute and a great value too
I picked up one of these for you youngest daughter and she loved it. My older daughter saw this one and begged me to buy it for her as she has a big stuffed animal collection. She just loves it if not more than my youngest did. These remind me of my Popple from the 80's, which are back, but these are better as you get three animals for the price of one. The only thing I didn't like and took a few minutes for me and both my daughters to figure out is how to keep the opening closed after changing to a new animal character. Other than that, these are well made and have stood up to my youngest playtime, which can be a lot like ToyStory3 on some days.

Cute. Nice price. Novelty wore off pretty quick.
Four stars- I like it.Rounding up to 4 stars, because my daughter liked it until it arrived. She then loved it for about eight days. It no longer gets played with or transformed. It just remains in the pile of other stuffed toys in its unicorn variation. Nice priced and nice idea, but it didn't hang on that long in our home.

Fun, small-sized gift
I bought this for my 4-year-old niece. She didn't realize it changed to different animals at first and was just excited she got a unicorn. Then we showed her it changed to not just one, and not just two, but three different animals. She loved it. She hugged it and carried it around with her. It is small sized, but it was perfect for a small gift, and a good size for a small child to carry around on their own.

My daughter loves this. However, I must agree ...
My daughter loves this. However, I must agree with other posts. The Velcro does not work as well when popped into the other characters. My daughter doesn't seem to mind though. It gets 4 stars because of the Velcro being weak. Other than that, it's very cute.
