A real winner...
Went into a '09 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab with factory REN head unit and NO amp...Replaced the rear door flimsy/weak 15w 8 ohm 6x9's with these. Which I felt were a steal here on Amazon over other well-known etailers. In the Ram dont use the provided spacer b/c your door panel wont fit. If your speaker does nor seat flat use a die grinder the door mount cavity is plastic not metal so it is easily trimmed up a bit. After only about an hour the started to open up and show their true range. I usually give me speakers about 20 hours to break in before I comment on them. My personal tip, use silicone between speaker frame and panel...trust me it will kill any potential rattle.I usually buy Polk Audio and JBL, I was trying to save a few bucks more and all the retailers that sell them all had 5/4 star reviews. Since I'm not replacing head or adding a sub I figured I'd try these [Harmon group like JBL] very pleased, dramatic improvement in range/clarity and sound definition. plenty of power from stock head to run them. the other 4 I replaced [ft door & dash] are JBL Club series also super!4/17/17: UPDATE...Just short of a month in and these have seasoned nicely. With some frt to rear balance work as well as equalizing to my taste they have the range I like with the added punch of a good product. Absolutely no need for a costly amp install, though I'm sure it would sound nice with more power at the four door positions as well as a sub w'er. A guy just has to know when to stop! :) NO regrets. And wife was pleased when I told her to replace all six was less than $200 total. Both her as well as the kids noticed the difference, all happy.

Crystal Clear Audio
Bill Bixby was right. Out of the box, these do seem to be very bright and the bass it strictly mid-range. That's completely fine by me. I've got them running right now to break them in and see if they settle down a bit. The thing that really impressed me was the clarity. These things are crystal clear and that's exactly what I was after.I've got these installed in boxes, linked in to a Yamaha HTR-5930 Home Receiver, which it linked to my PC by optical audio cable. I'm coming from a pretty decent pair of Logitech computer speakers and the difference is night and day. I'm hearing things in games that I've never heard before and I can tell exactly where I'm getting shot at from now.

For the money these are great speakers, but like a lot of Infinity speakers they're quite bright. Also, in my case there was about a day-long break-in period where they were nearly overwhelmingly bright and brassy. They soon settled down and I'm happy with them.Understand that bass response is strictly in the mid-range for these guys. This is no cheap bass substitute. In fact, I can only recommend these if you're planning to install a sub or other speakers with good low frequency response to complement these.
