riveting
Great read. I was unable to put it down. The book was written so well and I love how Jesus was glorified.

Another Masterpiece.
I don't have the time to sit and read a novel very often, but do listen to books on audio. I finished this book, 10 CD's (unabridged) in 6 days, just listening to it going back and forth to work and church.I have followed Tim LaHaye's work for some time now. I am an avid follower and fan of the Left Behind Series, the Prequels to Left Behind, and especially the Babylon Rising Series. Though this character does not start out to be as exciting as Michael Murphy, Joshua Jordan becomes a well established character. The story has a lot of what's going on in todays world, quite accurately I might add, and incorporates it very well into the story line. Any evangelical Christian who is paying attention to headlines of the times, as well as major characters in these headlines, knows and understands what is happening. The story has a little bit of Jason Bourne, James Bond, and Michael Murphy all wrapped into a new character that knows what has to be done and knows he's the one who has to do it. The family element is very good as well as the development of other supporting characters. My only disappointment was in some of the espionage aspects may have been drawn out just a bit more. But, that's just my opinion. Overall, this was a great story, with the potential to be another blockbuster series for a great Christian author who has an incredible talent ot spread the love of God and His Son, Jesus. These books, all of LaHaye's works, including those with Jerry Jenkins, have inspired people all over the world, and introduced an otherwise unknowing people to the Gospel of Christ.I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the second installment in this series. Thanks Tim.

Good interest catcher
After reading this preview I bought the entire series of four books. Well worth it and overall not unlike the Left Behind series.

A real page turner!
The story was fast paced, intense, and very relevant to the world situation we are witnessing today as the characters closely resembled some those in power at this present time.

10 years old but describes current conditions pretty well
Although this was written in 2009 it seems to have a lot in common with 2021. Such as a most of the media acting as a propaganda machine for the democrat party, a president that is not all there mentally, weakness in response to aggression from Iran, Russia, and North Korea, and a desire of the Democrat party to put the UN ahead of the USA.

Do we need a secret military action group to save us from the president and congress
Are we at the stage of biblical history, current world order and nuclear dynamics where the US must rely on an ultra right wing group who has had to fight a tyrannical dictatorship controlled press to get freedoms message out and who's heroes have "in fact" saved us from a nightmare attack and who are being framed by a drug addicted President who has Ischemic stroke blackouts and a wife who would compete with Lady Macbeth, though in a much less Shakespearean and more simplistic way. I gave this book 3 stars because it is an interesting read regarding how some might be thinking about things regarding current global dynamics and nuclear apocalypse. Also the insertion of spiritual needs during horrific personal moments in life rang true but seemed oddly out of synch with a book of this type or maybe just seemed strained in terms of the narrative. Also the "serial killer lone assassin" though possibly true seemed dated against the backdrop team approach in evidence everywhere else. And post 9-11 it would be pretty alarming if so many in the spy community ignored or discouraged inquiry. Yet come to think of it that is pretty much the updated theme in the blockbuster TV show "Homeland". Transposition and transformation of this scenario The horns of a modern nightmare dilemma. (Also published on Goodreads).

Better than the Left Behind series
I purchased The End Series for my adult son. We both enjoyed The Left Behind series which was popular in the 90's, in fact, he had started reading them first and encouraged me to read them as well! We were huge fans, I think we both read the complete series twice. I was looking for something to send him, as he loves to read, and I happened upon these. I was skeptical wondering how they could top Left Behind. My son says these were great! He read all three books in a week and said it was even better than Left Behind! When I jokingly mentioned he should have read slower, he said he couldn't put them down. Maybe he'll let me borrow them so I can see for myself?

Edge of Apocalypse (The End Series)
This book is fantastic!Tim LaHaye is one of my favorite Christian writers. In this book, Joshua Jordan has developed an RTS (Return-to-Sender) defense weapon. When he used it, without authorization, to stop an attack n the US by North Koreans, world leadersconspire to get their hands on it.The US government wants it to share the technology with other countries for political gains. But others have their own agendas for wanting the RTS and won't share the technology at all,An assassin is sent to find him and get the technology.I could keep going on but it is best, for those who are interested in this series, read it themselves. I did not want to put the book down! It keeps the reader's intrigue thirsting to read the entire book as quickly as possible. For those who purchase this book, I say....."ENJOY"

Excellent book
This was an excellent book. Captured me. Had to get all 4 books. So well written to interweave today's political and social climate with the Book of Revelations. Fascinating, I read all four books in two weeks. I couldn't put the story down. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did

missing Jerry Jenkins writing maybe?
I'm a devoted fan of all the Left Behind series and own them all, including their prequels and add-ons. I was so excited about this new series that I ordered all three at once and now I'm having second thoughts and may return the last two. I'm struggling with the story, the complex, convoluted plot, the foreign names, and I'm just not loving it. I force myself to read a chapter a night to see where it might be going, but even that's becoming a chore. The only positive comment is that in error I ordered Large Print and I DO love that!
