Q: No one has posted a straight answer to this. what is the amoung of product in each envelope? the neil med product packs 3 grams (3000 mg).

These contain 2.3 g of sodium and 0.7 g of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) per packet. Neil med contains 2.0 g of sodium plus not-listed baking soda. To be isotonic with the blood's usual max. of 0.145M sodium concentration, there should be a max. of 2.01 g of sodium per 8 fluid oz. of water (yes, I am a certified master chemist with a graduate degree from IIT). Overdoing it by 15% -as is done here- should be negligible and possibly beneficial since it would tend to make blood vessels push out liquid and reduce pressure but it's probably dilute enough to not have any effect. Note that 0.7 g of baking soda increases the molar concentration of sodium by only 0.02, which is negligible.

Q: My Doctor said just use distilled water and not saline. Does anyone else do that?

I use distilled water and one packet of powder which has all the impurities removed already for you. All other water (such as bottled or boiled water) feels like I'm just snorting pool water up my nose; it burns like heck even with trying two packets in it. And yes, if you use plain old tap water, Google WebMD for the 2018 case of a Seattle lady who died from a brain-eating amoeba from irrigating her sinuses with tap water in her nettie pot instead of distilled water.

Q: Can you place the entire unit into the dishwasher?

I unfortunately didn't read beforehand and the dishwasher ruined mine. On the top rack as well. Don't be like me!
