This cushion prevented my dad from getting pressure wounds which was an issue with other cushions. It is very comfortable and stays put. If you can afford it it is well worth getting. After he no longer needed it we gave it to my mother in law who was becoming non ambulatory after she passed we gave it to friend’s mother and she loves it. This is all to show how durable and functional this product is. Sadly the new one we purchased for my mom had to be returned before she was able to use it. I recommend the additional washable cover that can be purchased on Amazon.

THIS HIGH TECH, ANTI PRESSURE CUSHION REALLY DOES WORK. It looks like any other cushion, but there seems to be something in the layering of the materials that makes it work. After having searched and searched and having purchased some real losers, I ordered this cushion for my Mom who spends a lot of time in her wheelchair and had started to regularly develop a pressure sore right below her tailbone. She is in a first rate nursing home and lack of care is not the issue. We have been emphatic about her being up in her wheelchair and participating in life and not laying around in her bed so the pressure on her tailbone became an issue. She had just developed another sore just before the cushion arrived. This time, with the cushion in place, the sore healed really, really quickly...like within a week. Normally the staff would be nursing it along closer to 2 weeks or more before it would heal and the scab would fall off and then before we knew it another one would develop. It has now been almost a month and no new sore. We have all been checking her and there aren't even any red pressure areas on her behind anymore. The nurses can't believe it because this sore cycle has been going on for months. I highly recommend this cushion for anyone with similar issues. The best part is that there is no setup; it is a NO-BRAINER. Just take the cushion out of the box and put it on the wheelchair or whatever chair you're going to use it on. You don't have to pump any air, you don't have to mess with any straps (it stays in place), the person/patient does not have to be placed a certain way on the cushion and if being placed on a wheelchair, the cushion covers the entire seat instead of only covering half the seat and putting pressure on the back of the thighs. I am beyond relieved that my search for the perfect cushion has ended before my Mom's pressure sores became a real problem or worse yet, a life threatening problem. UPDATE: 09/08/2016 I am happy to report that the PURAP Low Pressure Cushion is still holding up after almost 2 years of constant use. My mom's cushion never leaves her wheelchair at the nursing home and THANKFULLY ever since we bought this cushion she has not had even one occurrence of the pressure sores that kept developing near her tailbone. Shortly after the initial purchase, I also had bought a second cushion for my aunt at the same nursing home and her cushion too has held up in the same manner after constant use. I am a firm believer in this company and this product. It has been a lifesaver for my now 95 year old mom because I know that had I not found this cushion after trying so many others, her pressure sores would have become a huge medical problem. Since the 2 cushions worked out so well, I recently ordered their new OASIS office cushion that I am using and enjoying at work.

My 83 year old mom who prefers to sleep in a recliner loves it!!! Her pressure sore is healing! We like the fact she can use it for her recliner, wheelchair and the car. It's a little pricey but worth it to have my mom comfortable.

I bought this cushion in August 2015 because of a problem with pressure sores. I have MS and divide my time between a power chair and lift recliner each day. It worked great. The pressure sore I had when I bought it cleared up very fast. I haven't used it all the time, but every time I would feel like there was shearing on my bottom I used the cushion and it cleared up right away. Now after 1 1/2 years the cushion has began to break down. The cover is very wrinkled and can't be smoothed out. The inside contents are very lumpy. Due to the wrinkles in the cover and the lumpy inside, it's difficult to get comfortable and doesn't relieve the soreness like it did. I'm debating on ordering another. I'm having more issues with soreness than when I got the one in 2015 and wonder if it will breakdown faster since I will be using it more. It's a little pricey, but was well worth the money for the time that I have used it.

PURAP Cushion - 3D Fluid Flotation Technology With Lowest Sitting Pressures I purchased this product because my Mother broke her hip and underwent hip replacement surgery. She has been working on rehabbing the "new hip" at a nursing home. Within a week of arriving at the nursing home she had developed bed sores on her dupa (tailbone and related areas). These bed sores weren't due to neglect, but rather due to the fact she no longer has any layer of fat underneath her skin to act as a cushion. Knowing how fast bed sores can turn septic I frantically searched Amazon looking for some sort of product that would work to help heal the bed sores. I found this patented PURAP cushion and bought it for her. The day my Mom received the cushion, she put it on the chair of her wheelchair and the pain was so much less when she sat on the pad she was able to spend more than half the day out of bed--which greatly facilitated her recovery. She now uses the pad to sleep on and also to sit on whenever she is in a wheelchair. As a chemical engineer and a patent attorney, I am convinced it is the superior construction and layering effect of the components of this pad that made it such a cushion that is so much less painful for my Mother to sit on the pad. I can recommend this product to anyone who is prone to bed sores and to anyone who has to spend a lot of time sitting, including using it as a seat pad when driving. I can also recommend people buying this pad for anyone who must sit in a wheelchair or be in a bed for any length of time. I can even recommend this pad be purchased for anyone with an elderly or ailing dog or cat that needs better padding to support them.

This cushion is worthless. Did not last at all and I do not use it all the time. I contacted the company, and they do not stand by this product. I Paid $175.00 out of my pocket and now I need to find another cushion. What a waste. This is the first time I have ever written a review. Again, stay far away from this product and shame on the company for turning their back on the consumer.

Provides great pressure relief when used on my lift recliner. It’s a little too thin to use comfortably on my wheelchair sling seat but on my recliner it’s great. It really is better for my recliner than the ROHO I was using previously (though I still prefer my ROHO for my wheelchair) since it’s a much lower profile so it doesn’t lift me out of proper position on the chair. So far it definitely seems worth the money and I am very pleased with it. Edit: I’ve found another great use for this cushion for when I’m in my bed as well! My heels are prone to pressure sores so I stick my purap cushion into a pillow case and use it to cushion my heels while bedbound. It’s thinness is perfect for my heels because it doesn’t elevate then the way thicker pressure sore foot cushions usually do, and so the purap cushion doesn’t cause the hyper-extension of my knees the way the thicker cushions will. Excellent product. Well worth every last dollar.

After mum had a stroke we were given a cushion however she became sore and areas brokedown I tried several cushions including repose but to no avail. Found this on Amazon pricey yes but mums had this since 2021 sacral area skin in good condition considering she cannot move. If skin grazes medi honey heels well. She loves this cushion used in wheelchair aswell .

My 97 year old dad wanted a comfortable cushion for his recliner. WE have been through many. We couldn't find one, decided to check on Amazon. It is more expensive than others but worth it. He loved it from the moment he used it and says it is very comfortable. Keeps thanking me! Very happy with the purchase.We don't need to look any further....
