This book is amazing. The writers give a higher perspective of the cross and its meaning. Easy read and makes one think in a deeper way about the true meaning of the cross.

A simple description: These sermons are perfect for those desiring to focus in on the Lord Jesus at any time of year, but especially as Easter approaches. I have given this book to several friends, and they all feel the same. This collection deals with the events of Passion Week, and the great sacrifice that was made. The sermons seem to get better as you go, and the last few are just amazing. It may sound theologically simple-minded, but I am convinced that if you seek to be closer to Jesus, read about Jesus. Anyone reading this collection of sermons is obviously looking to be more intimate with the Lord, and you will be pleasantly rewarded. After reading this book, my heart's cry is also: Jesus, keep me near the Cross.

This is an extraordinary devotional for reading as we approach Easter. Nancy Guthrie has chosen writers who have a high view of Scripture, and a profound understanding of the many facets of the cross. Not only have I read it twice this season but I've given away over a dozen copies to friends because I think so highly of it's content. I'm in a women's Bible study each week and I've given a copy to each woman that attends and there isn't a week that passes that they don't comment on how valuable the book is to them and their journey with Christ during His passion.

I enjoyed reading "Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross". The daily excerpts prepared my heart for the upcoming Easter. In the past, Easter has crept up on me and I had not contemplated deeply before that special day about all that Jesus had done for me. This was a great way to read from various, noted authors their "gift" of remembering the pain, suffering, humility and ultimate victory. I would highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to experience this personally as a guide and reminder of what Jesus did for us and our God's ultimate love through His son's sacrifice. Shari

This is a compilation of devotions written by famed Bible teachers focusing on various aspects of the Passion and the days leading up to the crucifiction of Jesus. It was loaned to me as a great read going through Lent. I bought a copy for myself to reread in future years.

I read one chapter each day during the month preceding Easter. It was a nice way to stay focused on the true meaning of Easter. It gave me a greater appreciation of good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. I plan to use it as a devotional prior to Easter next year as well.

A Lenton devotion that we go through each year. We love it as a family devotion before dinner or bedtime. Cannot recommend it enough. Love this book! And never gets old
