Pleasantly surprised...plus update 6 months later
The media could not be loaded. *Update review 6 months later*After receiving and quarantining fish, I lost 2 fish that were pretty stressed from shipping. But those 2 were free from the company. So I still have all 12 that I paid money for. They are at present very healthy and growing beautifully. My goal is to transfer them to an outdoor pond soon. So I would still highly recommend this company and will buy again in future. I am planning to buy some koi soon!Bought sept 2022. First and foremost I have never bought fish online before. I was a nervous wreck. The highly extreme stress the fish are under during shipping is not something I initially wanted. I tried looking at different local fish stores for these fishes but I just couldn't find high quality or healthy ones. So I took a big risk, I did alot of research of this company. I liked that it was located in the U.S. and a farm that is small which I assume that means they are able to focus on the health and selection of their fish. When the fish arrived, they were all bagged in the same bag. With not alot of water. I had ordered 12 of them. So that was a bit off-putting. The bag had plenty of air in them too and was doubled bag in case of leakage with an ice pack to keep water cool during shipping. It arrived literally the next day after it was shipped. The fish were all in good condition. Fins and scales were intact. They did seem to look stressed but not anything that's out out of the ordinary. There were no DOAs. I immediately temp acclimated then and transferred them to quarantine tank. Within minutes they were acting normally. I am very pleasantly surprised how easy it was and how the fish thrived through the shipping. The fish looked exactly like in the pictures. I was very happy with my purchase and the care the company took to make it happen.I see many bad reviews about that I feel is not the companies fault. There is always a risk through shipping. As long as you get the fish out immediately after it gets delivered, temp acclimate, and quarantine them properly. There will no issues whatsoever. If the fish died while in your care...it's possible you did not did these steps or your tank or pond was not fully cycled and you did not quarantine fish. I think a proper fish keeper who is educated on goldfish keeping, I would highly recommend this company.

Don't get soaked by PetCo, order from Toledo Goldfish instead!
I wanted to get some more Shubunkin goldfish for my pond and had visited my local PetCo, they were charging around $8.99 for fish that were barely 2 inches long even though the price tag indicates they are supposed to be 3-4 inches. I decided to check on getting some fish online instead, again through PetCo, they were offering 20% off and what appeared to be "Free shipping" on $35+" orders not to mention their listed base price for 2-3" Shubunkins was $5.99 each. I went ahead and put 20 in my cart and went to check out figuring it would cost me around $100 including taxes... NOPE! the shipping was listed at $40 and the total was closer to $150. I contacted their online support about the free shipping that is clearly shown on their page and was told "that is an error, free shipping is after spending $135 on live fish."At that point I found Toledo Goldfish on Amazon and figured if I was going to spend around $100, I would get their 24 Shubunkin and Sarasa Goldfish Combo with actual "Free Shipping." The order was placed on Sunday, the fish shipped on Monday and they arrived before 1PM on Tuesday. All the fish shipped had survived the trip and most of them seemed no worse for wear. Granted there are a few that seem to be a bit off, including one who is missing a pectoral fin, but true to their ad they did include "extra fish" in my case there were 30 total fish in the container and if I loose a few, which hasn't happened yet, they have made up for it well in advance.Kudos to Toledo GoldfishAbout the pictures, they recommend quarantine for the new fish, so i have an old 40 gallon acrylic fish tank i set on a couple of milk crates and divert water from my skimmer pump into the tank to keep them separate from the rest of my fish.

I don't normally like to gamble, but this was a win
Ordering fish over the internet from an Amazon provider scared me to death. And, when the fish came, they were packed into a small bag with little water. I thought I had lost my money and would have to go through mighty Amazon to get a refund from the vendor. Two things happened - one, the fish were lively and beautiful and did not seem to suffer from the cruel way of being shipped literally packed like sardines - and - two, the fish went through a growth spurt within a couple of weeks (showing how healthy they were) and one had babies. I tried to upload pictures and can if anyone asks a question of this review, but the vendor's pictures are accurate. This was a win. For our small pond, I can't order more, but if I had a bigger pond, I would order from this company again. ...although I will admit, the shipping was downright cruel. Imagine a gallon sized bag with 7 (yes, we got an extra one thrown in) 6 inch fish and only half way filled with water. The shipping was ridiculous, and if they are doing that to save money, I would have paid a dollar more to not have the fish shipped in that way.

First time buying fish online
After another Heron dined at my pond, I wanted to replace my Shubunkins and Sararas Comets and came across a listing by Toledo Goldfish. The pictures looked like what I was wanting and made the purchase as this was the first time buying fish online. Communication and overnight shipping was excellent and all the fish I purchased arrived in excellent shape. Don't hesitate to buy for Toledo Goldfish.
