Botanical Artistry: Plants, projects and processes (Botanical Art Portfolios)

A lovely book and I am so pleased that I bought it. Julia describes the joy and pleasure gained from observing, drawing and painting plants whether they are freshly picked or dried and faded. The beautiful paintings give the reader enthusiasm to try out the different ways of presenting the life cycle of plants. Smaller books are available by this author which demonstrate and describe the various techniques portrayed in Botanical Artistry.

Very inspiring art book.

I usually only buy books that have the `Look inside` facility. I nearly didn`t buy this book as we don`t have this option. So glad I did as it`s a lovely inspiring book

Beautifully illustrated with clear instructions and demos.

I made a mistake thinking this book had instructions on botanical art. It is a very small book with pictures of the artists work and her account of her 'botanical watercolours' and the intent of the book as a 'visual feast'. There are a small amount of basic techniques covering just 2 pages towards the back of the book. Sorry, not what I wanted, am returning it.

The paintings are beautiful. There is no denying talent when you see it. I wish it had of been a technique size book which would have given more illustrations of the author’s work. There is a lot of information imparted, just not in a step by step formatting.

Very instuctional book with great ideas for watercolour painting
