Truly unscented product for those who want zero scent
I am allergic to all scents, and it is important my products are truly scent free. I have gotten this several times and it does not disappoint. Cleans simply and well, leaves no residue.

It works...but it's expensive and not truly unscented
I bought this shampoo because I needed to find something that was truly fragrance free, and after a week of using it I've pretty much decided that it isn't worth the high cost. There are a few good things that I liked about it, but overall there were a few negatives that will probably keep me from buying it again.PROS:As far as a shampoo goes, it got the job done. It did a decent job of cleaning my hair without totally stripping it, and it lathered up and rinsed away cleanly like any other shampoo. I liked the fact that it is clear (no unnecessary dyes), and that it didn't irritate my scalp or cause dandruff.CONS:It is NOT truly unscented. I bought this because I'm sensitive to perfumes, which cause headaches and can trigger a migraine if bad enough. This shampoo may not have any ADDED fragrances, but it DOES has a strange "chemical" smell to it. It almost reminds me of a high school chemistry lab - that sort of sweet/sickly chemical smell. It wasn't strong enough to trigger a headache (which is good), but it made me a little nauseous (which is very bad). It's just really unpleasant. It's also runnier than normal shampoos. I started with the same amount I normally use, but found that I needed a second "dollop" in my palm to get enough shampoo/lather for my hair. So even though it works as well as other shampoos, I had to use twice as much. Add to that the fact that I paid $9.28 a bottle (double the cost of regular shampoo) - I'm basically paying 4x what I'd normally pay for a shampoo JUST because I need something that doesn't give me a headache. Sorry, but that makes me feel just a little bit ripped off. This is a minor point, but worth mentioning - this isn't a conditioning shampoo. After using just the shampoo my hair is tangled and feels a little like straw. However, that's true of almost ALL shampoos, so I wasn't surprised. It's just worth noting that I definitely needed to use conditioner for my hair to look like it normally does (soft & shiny).OVERALL:If it *really* had been unscented, then maybe it would be worth the money, but as it is I don't think I'll be buying this shampoo again.**NOTE - I bought this shampoo three weeks ago for $9.28. I logged into Amazon today to write a review and noticed that the price has dropped to $6.09? How can the price have dropped so much in only three weeks? It isn't listed as a sale or anything. So basically I WAY overpaid for this shampoo...for no good reason?? Note to Stoney Brook - making people feel ripped off is NOT the way to build trust and loyalty with your customers!!

Cleans well, not stinky, but....
I'm lowering my rating because the formulation keeps getting more and more watery. When I first started using this, it was very thick. I only needed a little and it stayed in the palm of my hand without running as I transferred it to my head. Then it got more watery and I needed a whole, overflowing palmful. Now I need *two* palmfuls, and it runs, making it difficult to deliver to my head, plus more expensive since I get fewer washes per bottle.I'm getting ready to look for a new shampoo. (Edited to add what I decided on - it's expensive but I love it. Original Sprout Hair and Body Wash - 12 oz. )Previous review below.******************************************************************************I'd been using baby shampoo on my doctor's advice after some rash issues, but I really didn't like it. I had to use a gigantic amount per shampoo, and it seemed to me it left residue. (I use shampoo as a body wash as well, since I figure if it's OK for the skin on your head it's OK for the rest of you.) And the baby shampoo had a lot of ingredients I didn't like, including scent and color. It only takes a tiny bit of this shampoo for lots of suds, so it's very cost-effective. I have no itches whatsoever, which I did a bit even with the baby shampoo. My hair is less tangled when I comb it out, and I like the texture of my hair better than with the baby shampoo. I think I've found something I can stick with!Edited to add that I do have to use a little conditioner every once in a while with this (I wash my hair every day) - after a few days it seems to take a bit too much of the oil out. It's still the best I've found.Edited to subtract a star and add that they seem to have some quality control issues. Or they have changed the formula for the worse. Some bottles have a much thicker consistency than others, and so I must use more or less depending on the bottle. Lately they've been pretty watery.Edit to add that I order mine from Vitacost. They don't charge any more for shipping six bottles than for one, so it's a very cost-effective option.

Finally found my HG! Give this a try if you're dealing with sensitive skin or scalp
Hair type: Very fine but plentiful Nordic hair. Concerns: Seborrheic dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, problems with hair flatness and the smallest amount of oil making it look dirty and greasy.Have used this shampoo for three months, and it's hands down my first Holy Grail hair product. Over the years I've tried countless of shampoos and conditioners, homemade recipes, but nothing's ever struck that perfect balance between being gentle on my hair and scalp while also getting rid of oils which exacerbate seborrheic dermatitis (note if you're dealing with the same hair type and SD you will still likely need to use a medicated shampoo every now and then, this is only an everyday-shampoo and will not treat the disease).I love the fact that it's fragrance-free, lathers well and is very gentle. Cruelty-free is a big plus too. I hope they never discontinue this product as I'll be a customer for life!
