This cook book from Gale Gand, renowned pastry chef and partner in several restaurants, has so many interesting and new ideas. I especially like the section on drinks for brunch - things like iced coffee with cinnamon/coffee ice cubes. Who'd'a thunk?The pictures are excellent, and the ideas have made my last couple of brunches lovely. The fruit butters are divine. The chapter on basics covers omelets, strata, frittata, quiche, & crepes...yes, the basics for any brunch - eggs! And in "Bites" she uses quail eggs, something I always keep on hand, but most people think of as an unusual ingredient.I use her zucchini rounds with roasted tomatoes & goat cheese as an hors d'oeuvre at dinner, as well as brunch. I tend to roast up a bunch of tomatoes at a time and keep them on hand, too.For some reason, I always like to find a selection of menus in a cook book - this has a wide selection.Recommended for anyone who likes to serve a nice brunch.

From everything I've read about Gale Gand, I guess I was expecting more. The book is well written with many photos. I really like the way the photos match the recipe. I've seen others where that isn't the case and it is off putting.However, I have found nearly all of these recipes online for free at other cooking sites. So, the big selling point here is that they are all grouped in one place.There are plenty of variations on themes to create a wide variety of dishes from one basic dish, but once you have one or two, thinking of others really isn't that much of a challenge.I will be looking into her other books with more caution.

This book looked so delicious in the library I just had to buy one for myself! I saw too many recipes I wanted to copy, so bought the whole caboodle! I have so many great ideas now for my Thanksgiving & Christmas brunches and New Years Day Open House! Can't wait to try, thanks!

I bought this for my mom, who loves to entertain guests for brunch. It's perfect for cooking for guests or just your family. I need my own copy! So many great recipes. This is is one of those cookbooks that will get used again and again until it's falling apart. Everything I or my mom has made has been so impressive and simple.

This is one of my favorite cookbooks! Brunch is a great meal for entertaining. I prefer it to hosting dinner parties. Gale Gand is an experienced baker and chef. In this cookbook she provides great brunch recipes that are easy to prepare and taste great. This was my second purchase of this cookbook. I gave it to a friend when she was planning a family brunch.

This is a beautifully done cookbook. I wanted a book that gave me recipes that could be made ahead for next-day brunches when I have friends staying over (so I don't have to get up so early) There are many recipes that fill the bill. Its beautifully illustrated also, which makes it much more fun to cook with. Gale also includes a nice selection of cocktail recipes. I made her Pim's Cup drinks to serve my guests as they arrived the prior evening and they were a big hit. Very different! Just about anything you'd like to see for breakfasts and brunches and general entertaining are here!

I just received the cookbook yesterday, and have not been able to put it down. I can't wait to try out all of the amazing looking recipes! I love to cook and find that a lot of the more "gourmet" recipes are very labor intensive and time consuming. This book seems to have a lot of recipes with ingredients that I have on hand, and they all look amazing! I am getting groceries today to start cooking tomorrow:).
