Purchased this for very reasonable price . Easy to install works great. Saved $165 at least by performing the maintenance myself. When winter starts repairmen/women can be backed up fore weeks which it what I experienced. Granted I don't have the experience of proper training to repair a gas fireplaces. However, I thought how hard could it be. Especially when we use the gas firelace as our only source of efficient heating in our small condo. I purchased both the Thermopile and Termocoupler for far less than {under $35) when the repairman/women were quoting starting at $165 + parts. I discovered Parts cost twice as much through from the repair contractors. We live on the NW coast of the U.S.

My thermocouple for my gas fireplace went out and I ordered this one to replace it. It was a perfect fit and is working great. Would recommend for gas fireplaces using Type K T/C

This thermopile is simple to install and is an exact fit for many gas fireplace applications. Unfortunately, it is of poor quality and does not generated sufficient voltage to operate a gas valve. Upon first installing this thermopile, I was successfully able to adjust my pilot light so that the thermopile generated 325 millivolts of current as required for my application. I should have been skeptical immediately since I had to increase the intensity of my pilot light to achieve that level of voltage. But, the gas valve opened when the thermostat called for heat, and it appeared to work fine. Less than 24 hours later, the fireplace would not operate. I checked the voltage being generated by the thermopile and it had fallen below 175 millivolts! I tried to increase the intensity of the pilot light, but the voltage did not increase. I removed the thermopile to test it independently, and I still could not get more than 180 millivolts of current. So, I removed it and have initiated a return. Do not buy cheap off-brand thermopiles. The few dollars you save buying them is more than offset by the time you will waste replacing them. Go with an OEM replacement from a reputable seller.

Product was as described. The installation in our gas fireplace was really easy and the product performed exactly as I needed it to perform.

Easy to install part was identical to the bad one

I wish I would have read all the reviews first before purchasing this product - it failed to produce even 250 mv. Do your research and confirm how much mv you need for burners to light your gas fireplace!! Seller does not list here what the output is to be expected from this product and maybe this is due to a quality control issue. If you have a majestic gas fireplace I would not recommend this product - look for majestic brand specific replacement - I did find one from Amazon seller for about $30 and that one worked and produced enough mv.

This item is the exact replica of the one that my husbands business carries except it is infinitely cheaper in cost. He was happy to have found it on Amazon and just as happy to receive it. It was everything he had hoped it was.
