Hungarian SWEET Paprika from Kalocsa, Hungary (3.5 ounce (100g))

The Hungarian Paprika is well know in Europe for its very high quality that gives dishes that special taste no other condiment does or replace. In the past years I purchased all sorts of red paprika, but lately the quality became from bad to worst. The last straw was the smoke paprika that was so bitter that it made the dish un edible. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the original paprika from Szeged and Kalocsa- Hungary, here on Amazon. For those who never heard, or used it before, the Hungarian paprika comes in different varieties: the sweet pepper gives the food a characteristic flavor and a deep color, while the capsaicin content of the hot pepper stimulates the taste buds. And smoked paprika gives a very special, smoky taste to food. With its rich taste, deep color and unique aroma, it has always stood out from other peppers in the world. It can be used in countless dishes: from seasoning meat, fish, and vegetables to flavoring soups, stews, and traditional Hungarian dishes such as goulash and paprika potatoes. I highly recommend the Hungarian paprika for gourmand people, to those who have the delicate taste buds to appreciate this special flavor no other paprika give to the food. Before putting your meat in the over, make a mixture of condiments you like: sea salt, black paper, carraway powder, marjoram and Hungarian paprika. Brush some oil (of your choice).You will see difference when having the first bite. I also highly recommend the Hungarian paprika to butchers in preparing/seasoning/preserving meat, sausages, salami, etc.

great quality, great taste, deep rich color

This paprika has a very bright and distinct aroma and flavor. I never buy regular paprika again. A true hungarian paprika, it adds very specific flavor to meats and entrees. I recently made Cserkesz kolbasz using this paprika, and the paprika was the star!

If you're making authentic Hungarian Goulash or Paprikash - this is what you need. The real deal imported from Hungary. Fresh, sealed in cello, this is a HUGE difference over the flavorless stuff that passes for paprika here in the states. Do yourself a favor and grab a bag of the HOT variety as well. The price is quite reasonable. Fun Fact... real Hungarian Paprika is NOT smoked. Not sure where that came from but it's not Hungarian cuisine!
