120 comfortably but you could cram a few more in.

We keep DVD’s on ours and it holds 30 on each shelf - if that’s any help to you.

Can someone please measure and give the dimensions of the base panel? The width is listed as 52cm but I'm not sure if it counts the wood sticking out.

The top and bottom panels (that stick out) are exactly the same length which is 52cm

I don’t see why not. It’s tall enough for DVD’s so there would be a gap at the top. You could lay cds down on top of those standing up, but the shelves are the perfect height for dvd s
